He needs to grow up though, if this is all true how can he look other players in the eye when you have Danny Amendola playing with his torn groin and other players with various ailments?
Um, because his injury is on a completely different level of severity? It has been reported many times that Amendola is not risking further injury by playing. Gronkowski is literally risking his career by going out and taking full contact on that arm. I'm not a doctor, but let's review the facts:
1. Gronkowski breaks his forearm on a freak play where it looks like someone ran into his arm on the FG team.
2. Gronkowski undergoes surgery to put hardware into his arm.
3. The next time we see him, in the season finale vs Miami, he is just dangling that arm down by his side, terrified to so much as touch a Dolphin player with it.
4. 2 weeks later, he re-breaks the arm on a routine play that no one without an issue in their forearm would even get a bruise.
5. At that point, it would have been fair to say that there was some serious concern about the integrity of his forearm.
6. He has undergone THREE SURGERIES on the arm since that time. There have been reports of multiple infections.
7. He has not been cleared to play by an independent surgeon of worldwide repute, 21 weeks after the last of the 4 surgeries.
Based on these facts, I think it is safe to say that this is an extremely serious situation, and to analogize it to a groin pull, bruised ribs or whatever other minor ailments people play with, is ridiculous.
