Honestly, Peyton is a great qb but the media and the way he is willing to throw his teammates under the bus has caused me to lose some respect for him. Instead of just bashing Peyton, I am going to give a few reasons why I and so many others will never give him the props the media thinks he deserves.
1. I do not respect his only superbowl win. Any non-biased observer can tell you without the repeated aid of the refs, there is no way Manning comes back from a 21-6 deficit at half time against us in the afccg. Then to follow that horrendous game up with an easy outing against Rex Grossman. I'm just not impressed.
2. The guy that "changed the game" comes up as small as possible when his offense is supposedly generations ahead of everyone else. The 2013 Broncos rewrote the record books but lost 43-8 in the sb. I repeat 8 points by the otherworldly Peyton.
3. But, but, but what about Peyton in his prime. 2004, when he set at the time td record of 49 passes. Impressive, no really. Then this magical offense lost 20-3 to us in the divisional round. This great offense put up 3 points. Its starting to look like his best offenses do the opposite in the playoffs, but I forgot that the post season doesn't matter according to Tim.
4. 2005. After crying about how they lost last year, they got the rules changed. Thanks for that and the endless flags. So now this unstoppable offense(and refs) is definitely going all the way this time right. NOPE. One and Done.
5. Peyton actually lost the superbowl in 2009, but I am not going to give him any props for even making it there because no one wants to really give Brady props for his losing efforts against the Giants, twice.
6. Yes the Colts didn't always have the best defenses but they did have Freeney and Mathis screaming off the edge. And I don't want to hear about how poorly the Colts teams' depths were, because Peyton had a HUGE part in that. It seemed like it was his mission AT ALL TIMES to be the highest paid qb in the game. While Brady was and even now underpaid for the sake of the team.
7. Now, whose argument is better? Mine or Timmy's?
