He was such a twit he played the superstition card when they won during a week he was too stressed to shave and then when they lost he kept it anyway... Not HC material...

Gotta think Rob Ryan's stock is falling too. His defense didn't exactly cover itself in glory last evening... He apparently needs a good OC and consistent QB play and competent HC'ing to occur simultaneous just to appear to be the genius DC he portends to be... Just like his brother...who also isn't HC'ing material.

Pioli and Haley hate each other. Haley ran Charlie Weis out of town. Haley refuses to run the system that Pioli wanted him to run when hired.

Last year was his second season as HC but the first season with RAC and Chalie as his coordinators... His first season was abyssmal. He devalued Cassel out of the gate because he wasn't his guy and he nearly got him killed in 2009 after firing Chan Gailey who was his holdover OC on the eve of the season. Once Charlie arrived things got back on track until Haley started to exert himself heading into the playoffs... Next thing you know Charlie is headed back to college. This season he installed a puppet OC and playcalling became so tortured (since Haley wanted to control it but he had to make it look like the clown in the booth was) Cassel was exploding in frustration at and eventually on the sidelines because they couldn't get playcalls in on time. Pioli was rumored to have been ready to fire him weeks ago, but then they started winning so he had to wait until that ceased... He's reportedly an arrogant little snot that no one can get along with.

Haley's claim to fame was that he was the OC of the AZ Cardinals (whose former Steeler OC HC wouldn't let him call plays until midway through that season) when Warner led them to a superbowl. He bounced around the league as a WR's coach and the Dallas passing game coach (LOL - do they divy things up like that anywhere else besides Washington when Snyder hired 4 HC's at once...). He was a coaching assistant back in NY when Parcell's went to the JETS, but he got the position by virtue of nepotism because his old man was in the JETS personnel department after a long stint with the Steelers).

Fascinating. Thanks for filling me in. So much drama compared to what we get here in NE. We get excited here when an OC and QB have an arguement that resolves itself. I think drama like this here might make our heads explode.

so two coaches who beat the colts are fired already and caldwell is still employed by polian ?

Re: OT: Todd Haley Fired

Probably because there is an unwritten rule that when a front office person or coach leaves a team for a new job, they don't raid their former team's coaching staff. Pioli probably didn't go after McDaniels out of respect for Belichick.

Hmmm... Apparently no one informed Parcells of this fact back in '97...

Polian in his latest weekly radio program stated he is hoping Jim's job isn't in jeopardy if they fail to win a game, but just in case they are really trying to win one... He thought they were competitive in the Baltimore game...as opposed to so far behind the Ravens let up. Fans over on Coltfreaks are going bat**** on Polian at this juncture. They want him worried about his job and his kids job if not gone with Caldwell and a clean slate to develop Luck within an organization that won't construct another house of cards for his kid to inherit around the premise that nothing really matters as long as you have your QB...only to find out when you don't you're totally screwed because your team sucks.

If you go winless in a professional league you should be fired immediately. No qualms about it.

Probably the only team where the GM has the radio appearance not the coach or players..

Mangini may be the next one to step in at KC or Miami

I'd rather see RAC get a shot instead of Mangini. Mangini has already failed as head coach twice and didn't seem to improve as a head coach. RAC deserves another chance. I don't even know if Mangini would be a good defensive coordinator for RAC, given how bad he was running NE's defense in 2005. I think he benefitted by taking credit during a winning run in NE, similar to how Haley got his HC job.

As for McDaniels, despite Steven Jackson, Bradford, and a revamped O-line, the Rams are last in the league in points (11 points a game), last in total yards, last in 3rd down, and the Broncos lost nearly all of their last 20 games. For comparison, the Colts (suck for Luck) rank 3 offensive spots higher and average 3 more points per game at 14 pts per game.

Weiss seems unavailable due to the KU job and I hope RAC keeps the HC spot beyond this year and gets another chance.
