The money will only stretch so far. The Patriots have secured Willfork, Gostkowski, Warren Ty, and maybe Brady.
Who do you want more Mankins? Moss? or Seymour? Choose one or possibly two, out of three.
and you were saying....Lets do a 15 year deal just like that hockey deal that got recently voided!

At his age 3 years should be the best deal in terms of risk for the Patriots. I'd like to see the Patriots make a serious run at Vincent Jackson FWIW.
I don't agree with PATRIOTSFANINPA about Moss showing a HUGE decline in skills. That's a misinformed comment.

Are you totally dismissing a vertical receiver playing through a separated shoulder and back issues for the majority of the season whilst finishing 5th in receiving yards, equal tenth in receptions and equal first in receiving touchdowns in the NFL?I did change HUGE to OBVIOUS after a close look at what I posted...it may not be HUGE because he did have a 1,000++ season last year but if you go by Moss standards of being one of the best ever you can see obvious signs of weaker performances as he gets older and its normal so not like its a shocker or something.

Come on mate...
I agree with you that a 2-3 year extension is the best deal for the Patriots in terms of risk. That said I disagree with your statement about Moss' skills. He's still as good as he's been since he arrived here.I am aware of his injuries thoughout 2009 and he did post 1,000 like I said,I just think he is worth no more than a 2 year extension at best and if there are contract issues like we had with Mankins I would walk away next year and move towards an available top vet WR in FA depending on the situation with the CBA
We don't need to place ourselves in a position where we use significant $$$ on the cap for a longer term signing for a WR that will be 35 by 2013
Thats all I am saying
Are you wack jobs serious?
Moss is showing obvious signs of declining skills as is normal with a WR nearing his mid 30s...no way is he worth signing a 5 year extension ....if he gets a 2 year deal that should be the max...Moss's illustrious career will be over before you realize it.
I myself would not be very upset if he goes elsewhere in 2011,its time for new blood or go elsewhere in the league to get a talented WR
