Next Best Steps On Defense

Is Jason even that good?

From everything I've heard he's pretty solid. 3 INTS this year and I don't think they throw his direction much. Just seems to me this could happen. I know they've always wanted to play together. It's almost tom perfect of a fit I think. I think of healthy Dennard can play press man and Jason is a pretty good man corner. I'm asking more why Tennesee wouldn't do it, for say our first? Or a second and a third? Or some other combination?

I'm kind of worried we go back to that soft D and we'll just start getting shredded once again. We've had that D before with McCourty back there and i'd be seriously wondering why even pay him?

We're paying McCourty because he's a top 3 FS in the NFL and he's a leader on the defense, he's the one leading every DB huddle pregame and lines up the DB's.

He's worth every penny he asked for. He has the best range of any safety and his instincts improve every single game, there are sound-fx clips with OC's discussing avoiding the part of the field D-Mac is shading to because he's that good.

McCourty will make the DB group better, he may not be the same caliber player as Revis, but he's arguably more important because he does a lot more than cover one guy.

Revis is NOT replaceable, but we're 100% a better defense with McCourty than we are without.
