Nice little write-up/interview with Butler. Tough not to be excited about this kid.

    Key phrase for me is:

This is what you want to hear from players who aspire to greatness. Greatness starts with imaging yourself in a position of greatness. There is one poster here with a great quote by Montana that great players imagine themselves to be great.

Butler and Chung have been getting major playing time recently.
Meriweather and McGowan are possibly the team's best defenders.

The secondary right now is as good as it's been since 04.

Im excited to see how the secondary plays versus Manning, hopefully Meriweather is a go for the game.

    Sorry to disagree with you,
but we've all imagined ourselves as great.

It takes work, and talent, not imagination.

It does take work and talent, but imagination is where it all starts.

Visualizing success is a tool used by many successful people in all lines of work. It isn't either/or, imaging or work and talent, it's both/and. Visualization comes first, however.

I like him in pass coverage..... but he cannot even tackle his own grandmother

-horrible tackler.... its a good thing we have many others who can drop some hurtin bombs on ppl behind the line :)

Said this at the start of the season but it must help Butler, Chung, Wilhite etc to be practising against TB and Moss/Welker day in-day out

We should put this guy on Dallas Clark and shut Manning's security blanket down.

    Man, I heard his grandma is 6'3" 250 and runs a 4.45 40.

    Are you serious?

    Is this a joke?

    He's a good tackler.

"hurtin bombs" do not equal good tackling. It's good to punish, but you can be a sure tackler and not lay the wood like a Meriweather or McGowan.

Agreed, and when a safety tries to dismember a ball carrier and blows it, your corner BETTER be a good tackler.

Does Butler now start at CB for you? The reason I ask is bc I read Reiss say that he thinks he is your best CB.

Whoever starts is not governed by "who's the best" but by who best matches up with whoever we are playing against, at WR.

True. If the Pats thought that putting Mike Wright in at CB would give them the best chance to win. . . . ;)
