The flaw in your analysis is the you MUST look at the entire season, not the second half of the year. Every team we played in the second half gave us their best game to end our unbeaten streak. when teams played the Chargers, it was just another game. No one was "getting-up" to play the Bolts but they certainly played their best inspired football to play THE Patriots...

During the regular season, The Pats allowed 17.1 PPG while San Diego allowed 17.8 PPG. That a difference of .7 points per game. If you add in the play-offs, the Pats have allowed 17.3 PPG while the Chargers have allowed 17.4PPG.

The Pats have gone 17-0 while the Chargers have gone 13-5.

Sorry to burst your bubble with REALITY there ROBINSANDIEGO, but no matter how you spin it, the Stats don't support the idea that the Chargers are somehow BETTER than the Patriots.

Since the forum on chargers.com is banning anybody who makes a point that is not pro-Chargers and not allowing new users to register, I'm not welcoming any Charger trolls.

However, to get back to the original point that the Patriot defense is "soft", I'm thinking it must be in reference to the Jacksonville game and the short passes. (It couldn't be anything else because the Pats gave up less yardage and less points than the Chargers, so what does that make their defense?) Have you ever considered that the game plan was to take away the run and also avoid the big play/long pass at the same time? Of course not; why let facts get in the way of false bravado?

Can't wait to see all those Chargers shivering in the -15 degree wind chill on Sunday ....
