Anyone who watched the game last night can't deny we had our fair share of luck. Baltimore didn't help themselves with penalties and what seemed like a stupid TO call when the Ravens had stopped us, and basically won the game right there. We had alot go for us last night. Our own performance was way below par IMO. Dropped passes from Watson and Moss that should have been atleast 12 more points and Brady and his recievers had probrably their worst performance in along time, although Baltimore didn't excactly make it easy. Our defensive line was man handled for the majority of the game allowing Mcgahee to do basically do whatever he wanted and it showed. He went through our D like a hot knife through butter again, and again, and again. Our own running back sadly needs to take note on how to hit holes. I've tried to stick up for Maroney but he frustrated me last night. He's too dainty in his play. He'll get to the hole but wont go through it with the venom he should. Ofcourse thats easy for me to say, I haven't got 267 pound Linebackers waiting to take my head off but he should be running alot harder. Everything pointed to a frustrating defeat against a fired up Ravens team.
But we won the game.
Again the team showed heart and character to stay with it and although our our play in general wasn't what it can and should be, we stood our ground and fought. Rodney's passion was clear giving Billick some Rodney love, frustration was evident throughout but we pulled it off. I was so wrong about Baltimore too, but I bet I wasn't the only one thinking a pats win would be pretty straight forward. Sorry to bring soccer up but I'm getting the feeling I did back in 2005 when Liverpool won the big one. No matter what happened during that competition, for some reason you just knew we were going to do it, our name was on the trophy.
After last night, it just crept into my mind that maybe this year, the pats are destined for it all.
