Anyone remember Ray Nitschke ? That's what I want on our team.
Seymour, Wilfork and Vrabel aren't "mean"?
Did you ever watch Nitschke play? NO; they are not mean.
They are very good and Wilfork may have some mean in him but certainly not Seymour.
Too bad you never seen Nitschke play.
forget agrssive style and scheme..if they can just improve their tackling they can be a impactful defense. how many missed tackles resulting in big plays have we seen in the last two yrs ?
2007/2008 has to be worst tackling pats teams i would think
[sarcasm on]this is what we do...

there we go... Defense is fixed
I always wondered if a Belichick defense with the Patriots could be like, say, the Ravens D.
I'm thinking, no. The Patriots D does get under a lot of other players' skin, esp. Seymour and Wilfork.
But, as its been described in the past, it's a thinking man's defense. The Patriots' D is like a boa constrictor that comes at you strategically and slowly squeezes the breath out of you.
Mind you, Wilfork, Seymour, Harrison, are nasty players, but Ty Law, Bruschi, Warren, Vrabel, these guys just made things difficult on you as they were better prepared and always in the right spot.
I don't think I have any special knowledge ... others probably have much more. Herzlich from BC seems like that kind of player, though he's staying in school. Aaron Curry is very intense, but will almost certainly go top 10. Maualuga is intense, but I doubt he has enough control to go with his chaos.
I tend to like very high motor players like Connor Barwin, Cliff Sintim, Paul Kruger, and DJ Moore over possibly more athletic players who seem more inconsistent (both in play and in motivation) such as Michael Johnson, Tyson Jackson and Vontae Davis. Players with an inconsistent motor and "unlimited potential" (like Vernon Ghloston last year) scare me. But I'm no expert.

I remind one and all. Those heady, emotion-filled, nasty, agressive, attacking, fearsome, blitzing Defenses of the mighty Ravens and Eagles... gave up 23 (could have been more) and 32 points respectively.
They are TOAST and DONE for the season.
Despite all that newness, they still finished as the Top Ten Defense; and top 8th in points allowed.
