There are the following players at OLB.
The older guys:
Vrabel,
AD and
Colvin
The young guys:
Woods,
Crabel,
Guyton
Redd,
and the two PS guys.
Total : 9 OLBs.
Now many here think that we need more OLBs. I would argue that rookies can't play the first year in a DE--> OLB conversion. And maybe even the second year. But Tedy and Woods were doing it in their third seasons. So Woods will be better, and Crabel should have caught on a little and contribute some. Redd is "raw" and may take a full three years, if at all. The Pats may add another 2nd or 3rd round DE--> OLB candidate, but that is all. Last season people were disappointed in Meriwether, but not anymore. Sometimes the answers are already there; you just have to wait a bit.
Could the same situation apply to CB? What will Wheatly, Willhite, Richardson look like next season?
OTOH, an ILB is definitely needed and so is another S. Bruschi and Harrison are probably done, and may not even show up except for the retirement ceremony.
