Darrelle Revis Rumors and Speculation

A TE like Amaro or S-Jenkins via the draft would be fine by me.

I wish we'd go after Pollard at safety. He should come reasonably and is the physical presence we need.

I don't think he's very familiar with the draft and the players in it. He would know that this draft is neck deep at all positions of need for the Pats.

If the Patriots were to sign Revis for, say, 4 years with an AAV of about $12m and a first year hit of $6m-$8m, do they immediately jump to the top of the list in the "Who's having the best FA season so far?" department

You must be the GM of the 2013 Tampa Bay Bucaneers. Welcome!

And nice job on that championship.

Hopefully they can get another Steven Gregory or Adrian Wilson in free agency or another Tavon Wilson in the draft. Also, Kyle Brady is an under the radar TE option.

Well, since your the one asking, what's your opinion?

Revis will cost quite a bit more than that.

Even the almighty Bill Belichick isn't immune to being a little rattled by the fact that the best team in the AFC just got a whole heckuva lot better - while we've lost our 2 most important players not named Tom Brady. If he is wise, he will make the Revis deal happen.

Per Miguel a few minutes ago:

Based on @AlbertBreer 's report that Pats were under cap by 15,790,286 this morning releasing Sopoaga puts them under the cap by 17,870,286

Yes!!!!!!!!!!

Tedy Bruschi fired up on NFL Live. Talking about Darrelle Revis possibility to the Patriots, Bruschi says, "This deal has to be done!"

Tedy is so excited his inner patriots fandom is taking over his objectivity.

You can't upset a Pats HOFer Bill!

Yep. They snag a DT like Tuitt or a DE like Ealy with their first round pick then upgrade the 3-tech and SS position with a hitter with later picks and guys that can contribute immediately, and you're talking about a defense that can easily be top three, up there with San Fran and Seattle. You're talking about a style of defense the Pats haven't been able to run in at least eight years.

But then you would have to shoot up Amendola, Dobson and Gronkwoski all year with HGH to keep them on the field. I'mnot opposed to doing that, just saying it would need to be done.

We can't sign Revis though, didn't you guys know that it would ruin our salary cap structure for years to come and only stupid teams go after the highest paid FA's? Only bad teams like Cleveland and Miami spend top dollars in free agency, didn't you guys know? Bill is outsmarting them by passing on the top free agents.

Member of Darrelle Revis camp chimes in on if he thinks the cornerback will end up on Patriots. "It's going to happen" #nyj

its not Bill, its the Krafts who will be signing the check here. Im sure Bill wants Revis as bad as most of us do.

It's Bill's call. He manages the roster and the cap.

The Jets boards are already melting down at the possibility of Revis coming here. Some are doom and gloom. Some are saying the Pats are just desperate and won't get him anyway. Some think Brady is going to be peissed that they are spending money on Revis and not going out and getting a WR (like any free agent WRs have signed anywhere).

Revispalooza! **merged Revis** <REVIS RELEASED>

Hitman Harris is becoming my favorite moron poster. His reaction to the Pats signing Revis if and when it happens is going to be the best.

Kraft has delegated these personnel decisions to Belichick. It is entirely in his court.

Let's put the odds of THAT occurring this way:

Your boy Mankins will restructure his contract before Revis agrees to those type of numbers.
