I presume that it's at least on broadcast in the teams' home markets as usual, right?
if you're in the Greater Boston area then it will be simulcast on Channel 5 as well as on NFLN, BUT if you're in NH/ME/VT/CT/RI/W Mass then you SOL.

According to what I've read, I should be able to "watch" the game on one of the local NYC stations, yes? [I live in southwestern CT.]
If you aren't happy with the service you get from comcast you might try to see if you can use the threat of switching to DirectTV to upgrade your service.
I had DirectTV extended analog package and wanted to get the HD + DVR package. When I called them directly and asked what it would cost they said $15 per month plus $199 for the HD-DVR plus shipping.
I did some research and found out about 'Customer Retention'. Basically, you call your provider and say "<competitor xyz> is offering a free HD service, HD DVR and 6 months free HD service if I switch."
I did that and got the HD service free for 1 year, Free HD-DVR, HBO for 3 months free AND $10 per month off for the next year.
EDIT:
Here is a link to a page that walks though how best to get a Customer Retention Specialist for Comcast.

My condo complex has a deal with Comcast so I can't get any other service.
Thats why I hate Condos and home associations. They put up BullSh!t rules.
So there's no chance you can put up a satellite dish?
