A stupid scandal coupled with a fabricated scandal will cause this. This is the NFL that Roger Goodell has created and Kraft has allowed by capitulating. This is only the beginning I'm afraid and any future complaints will be taken as true by the fans and the media.

The NFL needs to get its act together.

NFL headsets, set up and maintained by the NFL, malfunctioned for the Steelers for 14 minutes...and, according to Bill Belichick. malfunctioned for the Patriots the ENTIRE GAME.

Obviously the Steelers gained an advantage, since the problem was fixed for them but not for NE.

This whole 9 months reminds me of what happened to Gary Webb with the public perception and the media ripping him and his family apart over a newspaper series.

For those who don't know Gary Webb Penned a series for the Mercury news called Dark Alliance. The media crucified him in every way they could.

It was also a movie called Kill the Messenger.

NFl = CIA
Patriots/Tom Brady = Gary Webb
SI,espn, nfl network= la times, washington post, new york post

Simple fact is the Steelers just delivered one of the most poorly coached games I've seen at the professional level in a looooooooong time. They were making blunders on both sides of the ball. It's hard to believe the players were prepared by a guy with almost a decade of HCing experience who had months to prepare for the darn thing.

I hate Rex too and I don't recall (correct me if I'm wrong), Rex throwing a hissy fit about off the field crap.

Probably because Rex' dad would tell him off if he ever whined like that. He comes from the old school era, where players and coaches actually took responsibility for their mistakes.

And not to mention what Tomlin heard was the Pat's coach to coach communication! Now that is cheating!

Tomlin should put a lot of blame on himself. The clock management was awful. I began to wonder if they had simply given up with three TO's when a come back we still plausible.

Don't know if this was said elsewhere, but I was listening to Mike & Mike this morning, and they said that when the officials walked over to the patriots sideline to make sure their headsets were turned off too, the Steelers headset problems stopped. Then when the refs walked away from the patriots sideline, the problems with the Steelers headphone started up again.

I'm sorry, that is HILARIOUS.

Patriots had similar issues last night.........

"""Plus after the game, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick complained equally about the headsets, agreeing with Tomlin that the issue happens all the time.
“It did,” Belichick said, when asked if the communication issues affected the Patriots. “We had a lot of problems. We had to switch headphones a couple of times. The communication system was not very good. We deal with that it seems like weekly. They told us that they were on the verge of shutting it off, but I guess they got it working. … Tom [Brady] almost had to switch helmets near the end, we couldn’t get the plays into him.”
Belichick reiterated: “It was a problem all night.”
Belichick was asked if he ever got the answer for what the problem was.
“Well, no. We never get that answer,” Belichick said. “They just try to fix it, and they tell you that it’s up or it’s down or whatever. That’s not really my very strong area, technology.”"""

I hope the entire nation outside New England accuses us of cheating every game!

Be ready for every single team we beat to claim some form of cheating and for it to be reported without evidence and repeated as proof of constant cheating by all of the sports "media". (Honestly, the NFL should come down on this for injuring the integrity of the game)

Won't someone please think of the children? What example does Tomlin set by blaming his team's lack of execution on "It's unfair!!!! Wahhhhhhh"? .... what's next???? Blame it on the rain? Maybe the Pats made it rain harder on your sideline? Maybe the fans weren't nice enough to the visiting team giving the pats an unfair advantage? Whatever excuse you can find....

Seriously, Mike, DO YOUR JOB! Coach well, instead of what we all saw last night. Man up.

The scariest thing about this is that Volin tweets are *supporting* the Pats. At least what I see on the sidebar.

He hasn't had his bowl of cereal yet.

My wife said the same thing.

Seriously, people. Do you really think the Patriots would employ a cheating method so obvious so quickly into this season? Are you really this stupid?

But, what about all those walkthroughs they taped?

The NFL might, might be playing this straight:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...e-are-issues-we-do-a-thorough-review/related/

The NFL says it will review what happened with the headsets during Thursday night’s game in New England, but the league is reiterating that the Patriots did not provide the communications devices that malfunctioned.

and

The coaches’ communications equipment, including the headsets, is provided by the NFL for both clubs use on game day. The home team is responsible for the installation and maintenance of that equipment. Every team’s game day communications personnel are required to work with the NFL communications consultants to ensure wireless equipment is free and clear of interference and address any problems. Technological and stadium infrastructure issues of this type happen at many stadiums around the league and whenever there are issues of this nature, we do a thorough review.

Thorough review, huh? Sounds like a job for someone independent like Ted Wells.
