Tomlin is just upset because he heard the Radio guys making fun of his acting as Willie Mays Hayes in Major League II. And the fact that he was in some movie called The Wood.

Jeezus, and now the Steelers official site weighs in:

NO SURPRISE AT ALL
This is the kind of stuff that happens to the visiting team in Gillette Stadium all the time. From the start of the game through the opening 14 minutes of the first quarter, the Steelers’ coaches’ headsets were receiving the Patriots Radio Network broadcast of the game. The broadcast was so loud that the Steelers coaches were unable to communicate, and the NFL rule is that if one team’s headsets are not working the other team is supposed to be forced to take their headsets off. It’s what the NFL calls the Equity Rule. Strangely enough, whenever an NFL representative proceeded to the New England sideline to shut down their headsets, the Steelers headsets cleared. Then as the representative walked away from the New England sideline, the Steelers’ headsets again started to receive the Patriots game broadcast.

Maybe it's like the old days when the TV would be staticy and you'd walk over to the TV and it would stop, then you sit down and it would be static again. ;)

BTW, the statement from the League says that the NFL provides the headsets, but in the SI slander article they quoted an unnamed source say that the Patriots provided them a headset that looked to be run over by a lawn mower. How can that be?

An unnamed source, you don't say! That's all the evidence I need.. more probable than not the source is 100% correct

If anyone seriously thinks, that after Deflategate, and after those ESPN and SI articles came out this week, with a national audience and tensions already running at an all-time high around the Patriots and "cheating", that the Patriots would go and deliberately pull a stunt like this (even if they could), they have to have their frigging head examined.

I mean, they'd have to know that if they really did this, and got found out, that the punishment would be so severe that the franchise would likely never recover.

It's complete lunacy.

100% nfl frame job to keep the discussion going because they lost in court.

My wife said the same thing.

Seriously, people. Do you really think the Patriots would employ a cheating method so obvious so quickly into this season? Are you really this stupid?

Just woke up...so...has radio gate taken off?

What complete and utter BS. You would think the NFL would have been on top of this if it was the case.

Welcome to the NFL that YOU made Roger Goodell. For some reason you decided you need to be some Judge Kenesaw Landis figure who had to come in and make sweeping changes to an inherently and completely corrupt and lawless league that had lost the trust of its followers. Yet by over-reacting to so many cases — while somehow under reacting to things like the Ray Rice video — you spread the image of the league as ... yup, inherently and completely corrupt. You pandered totally to the mass of whiny victim-playing crybabies this country has become, and now it's biting your league in the ass. Well done you. That golden goose is cooking right along.

An easy answer is to pass responsibility for all in game communications to the NFL... not all that complicated, in many NFL games there are headset problems...

Tomlin is upset because without coaches in his ear telling him what to do, the guy is clueless. The time management is proof enough, inexcusable.

dan patrick started today;s show with this. Said collinsworth did a disservice to the pats becase the nfl controls the headsets. They need to havethe pats take off the headsets if they found issues with the pitts headsets. Said patriots didnt do anything he believes but that is the story.

It's disgusting how Collinsworth and Michaels went on their rant and had zero followup.

What I don't understand is how this happened. I read somewhere that the signals are encrypted. I guess they can't be if they're picking up radio broadcasts.... the NFL could solve this quickly with encrypted headsets. It won't prevent things from going down but it certainly would prevent any unauthorized signals or potential for "headset espionage".
