Seriously...why is it taking so long?

But I just can't believe Kraft would allow that at this point in the game. Everything he's done since that day he landed in Arizona seems to suggest that he isn't going to take this s**t anymore.

Fair enough. Yeah, I don't know how it's going to go down. I've oscillated back and forth between these two points a lot in the last couple of months. At this point, all we can do is just hope for the best and the league isn't let off the hook for their ********.

Why is what taking so long? What were we talking about? Have you heard about Dez?

Look! A squirrel!

I see lots of people saying "Kraft won't stand for..." or "Kraft won't take..." and rooting for Kraft to threaten Goodell's job, etc. if the report doesn't unequivocally exonerate NE.

For those who care about media and outside-NE perception of NE (and obviously those saying "Kraft won't stand for.." do care, otherwise what would be the big deal if the report didn't unequivocally exonerate NE? If you didn't care about outside perception, NE not being punished would be good enough), ponder the media and outside-NE perception if Kraft did threaten Goodell and Goodell chose to leak that fact.

You've got it all wrong. It won't be a situation where Kraft is secretly telling Goodell "hey, make this go away or its your job." In fact it's going to be the opposite. Kraft, and any sensible Patriots fan, doesn't want this to go away. We want a public and transparent accounting of what happened and how we are innocent of all the allegations leveled against us. If the league does not do this then due to the fact that the Patriots organization was publicly slandered due to corruption and incompetence within the league office, and by certain league employees, it is under that basis that Kraft can call for Goodell's job. As an owner it is fully within his right to do so, there is nothing backhanded about it..

Every night before he goes to bed Goodell gets on his knees praying for a really big national crisis, weather event or football crisis, so he can reveal the inconclusive findings or non findings of this sham of an investigation, and maybe no one will notice.

The only people who care at this point are sports fans, so all he needs is a sports diversion. March Madness is as good a cover as any. I think we could be looking at results any day now.

Well concussion concerns are about to come back in a BIG way so maybe he'll use that as cover.

Just this week I had a non-Patriots casual football fan ask me "Hey! What ever happened to that deflating footballs thing?"

Remember when Belichick said on Letterman that he would love to have him testify next month? Well it's been a month.

I don't think the Patriots are too worried about the deflate-gate and the possibility of losing draft picks. If they were worried then they would have probably made more effort to retain their own free agents at a higher cost to compensate for the loss of draft picks.

There is 0% chance we lose draft picks over this. There won't be any punishment, the worry is not being fully exonerated as we deserve to be. The NFL might just say that the findings were 'inconclusive' (even though basic science empirically proves that we are innocent) and just drop the issue altogether. This would be awful because it would basically be one giant wink and a nudge that the Pats did it but they can't prove it. Which is complete and utter horse s**t. The Patriots deserve full exoneration, anything less will allow the media and the public at large to continue to smear our team through the mud with BS statements like "well they got away with it again" or "culture of cheating" and other crap. Kraft better have been fully involved behind the scenes over the past month ensuring that the investigation is proper and unbiased and demanding that those responsible for these slanderous allegations are exposed.

FWIW, the Guregian said today in one of the Herald's football blog posts that "the smart money is that [the Wells report] will be coming out after [the owners' meeting]".

But she did preface that by saying that no one has any idea.

Seems clear #deflategate has entered the realm of non-story or no longer relevant. Heck, it still remains relegated to a sub-forum on this website. I don't see anything but a Pats/Colts/NFL are guilty finding gaining any sort of traction in the press. So it seems history will likely end up remembering the accusation and whatever conclusions people developed on their own, not the outcome (as others have suggested would happen).

On the other hand, if they give a vague determination, I think Kraft and the Patriots still have an opportunity to draw attention to it again by making any bold accusations they feel are warranted.

That's why it's critical that we get a definitive ruling on this. After everything he said in Arizona I would be beyond disappointed if Kraft didn't demand it.

Basic f***ing science shows that the Patriots are innocent. There is no grey area. This whole thing is a maddening joke that never ends.

...and both BB and TFB have testified recently
