why in the world wouldnt they tag him??? they just wont let the best reciever walk and get nothing, at 7 million and change the tag is reasonable if they dont get a long term deal doneI would be shocked if they don't tag Moss, then continue negotiations from there.
It would be rude to tag Moss ... he came here for a discount.
Slapping the tag on him would be the wrong message to future
veterans willing to come here for a year on the cheap.

I have a feeling there is a real chance Randy could walk.
I think BB/Pioli are NOT going to franchise tag him.
I suspect that they may have had an agreement that they would not apply the tag to further motivate him to produce this year.
If he is not tagged...some team flush with cash will absolutely blow him away with a huge signing bonus. It is supply and demand. Moss is a difference maker and other teams saw what he did for Brady and the PATS offense.
If he does not reach agreement with the Patriots befor tomorrow and he is not franchised...he will get an offer too good to turn down from another team and he will walk.
What makes you suspect that they had such an agreement? Nobody has ever said anything about it. What you 'suspect' really doesn't matter, unless there's some actual evidence to support it.
I agree with your last sentence, but the 'if' part kind of renders it null. The if won't happen. Moss is the second most valuable player on the Pats' roster; they're not just going to let him walk.
Moss is the second most valuble player on the pats really.
Sounds like an opinion and unless you have some actual evidence than your opinion really doesn't matter.
There might be evidence he is one of the most valueble but I think second most might be an overstatement. I would argue that Wilfork is more important to the Patriots than Moss. Than kind of talent on the deline makes the defense work properly. While Moss made the offense work more easily it is Brady who makes it work properly.
this is pro football,a business, BB and pioli arent Dr. Phil and wont worry what randy will think, they promised samuel not to franchise him i highly doubt it if they promised moss too, who would be next brady???? just let all your good players walk out the door because you dont want to get them mad or upset makes absolutely no sense to me ,and im sure to BB and Pioli as wellI completely agree that my opinion is NOT fact.
I offered it only because, Randy seems like the type of person who would NOT respond well to being franchised.
I think that BB/Pioli know that Randy would not eb happy if he is franchised and having randy on a team where he is not thrilled and have to pay him a great deal of money is probably not a goood option.
Pure conjecture on my part
I don't think Randy will be tagged. I think the Pats will let him test the waters and make his own decision. And I believe Randy will then decide to stay with the Pats. He will only play for a team with an elite QB and a good shot at the SuperBowl. That narrows things down a bit. Also, if they tag him then I do believe it would be with Randy's support.
