Re: What about the FANS.

Then maybe your not a fan???
because he doesn't need to appogize to me.

That's about the most pathetic thing I've read on this board.

Maybe we should hold a "Who is a Fan" contest. Anyone who dares disagree with anything the Patriots do should be punished forthrightly.

I'd love to learn more from some of these Internet Muhjahiddeen.

Really, dtbrks, can some of us someday reach your level of Patriot Fan Purity?

You have your opinion, i have mine, why belittle me? Does it make you feel better? Tough? Just cause your a Mod doesn't mean you can get away with it either. Look, I don't post much on this board, I don't want an arguement and maybe I went a little overboard, but you did to.

Maybe we can talk one one one sometime? and I mean talk, nothing more. Its good to talk because these messages can be left to interpretation, much like how I am interpreting your anger against me.

Its already been pointed out to you. And your making this statement says that you feel you are owed something MORE than what he did. You aren't.

Wow dude.

I say the fans ARE owed an apology.

And I have not seen one yet.

I don't care if you come back at me with "well you are not getting one" if you do, I am going to think that YOU are Belichick.

Re: What about the FANS.

boo hoo. I don't know how you can call yourself a pats fan because i'm sure you relsihed in the superbowl wins. Change your team if you don't like it.

Here's another example of the Internet Mujahiddeen going around measuring "Fan Purity".

Honestly, there's been quite alot of this the past 48 hours along with (on the other extreme) a lot of trolls. Strangely, the trolls seem far less pathetic than the "Fan Purity Squads".

Get a life if you need to measure other people on whether they are "fan" enough for you.

Thats why I don't post here.

I am only here tonight to ask about this issue and look what I get

I appreciate your response. You can PM me anytime.

I am offended anytime when someone questions someone else's "fandom" for the Pats just because they have a different opinion.

Me either. Your not the only one, there was an entire thread on this. Hey, if you feel slighted, that's fine with me. I felt a little pissed at first too, but we don't know all of the facts yet and the NFL hasn't commented officially yet.

Fair enough, I admit I went a little overboard, so I hope not to continue to get hammered.

Re: What about the FANS.

Suck it up, big man. I've listened to this BS from co-workers who aren't Pats fans for 3 days now and guess what, it hasn't shaken my love for BB and this team one iota. I don't care if he's guilty as sin or not. I don't care how the media and general public (translation: morons) views this team. All I care about is how he wins games and how he can continue to win games. At the end of the day, it's all that matters.

Some here disagree. And you know what? That's OK. Believe it or not, it doesn't make them any less a fan than you are.

Just like the parent who disciplines his kids when they get in trouble at school. The Parent who automatically blames the teacher when he says "I don't care if he's guilty as sin or not", doesn't necessarily love his child any greater, does he?

It's all good, dtbrks.

Same here. I'll admit, I am embarressed with the incident, but I don't feel he needs to say sorry to me until I know all of the facts and the league has made a ruling. Even then, I reserve the right to just say "it is what it is" and move on :D

Re: What about the FANS.

Not to bud into someone else's argument or anything ;), but parsing the statement, IF he implies the fans in the "everyone" part, he still is making the distinction that they are on a level below the ownership, staff and players.
You are correct. And I knew that before . . . do you think you are equal to ownership, staff and players to Belichick ? I don't and I like him as much as anyone - I've been BelichickFan since he was with the Browns in the early 90s :D

Re: What about the FANS.

I'm sure BB's "apology" went something like this: "The actions of Mangini, the NFL, and the douchebags in the media are unfortunately beyond my control, but I'm sorry that this has been a distraction this week."

BB doesn't owe **** to the fans.

I respect your opinion if you read it differently (and I hope you would be respectful that others had a different reaction to that statement), but when I read it, my reaction also was "Hmmmmm, what about the fans? - - the ones who buy tickets, pay for paraphenalia and give their hearts to the team - - shouldn't they also be in the "most of all" group? It seemed like he was making a distinction of who is most important. In proper perspective, he works in the entertainment industry - - not deciding World War III.
That's the way I felt about it too. Perhaps it was just an oversight - but it was a WRITTEN statement - you would think he would at least have given it a couple moments thought, and perhaps asked someone to give their feedback, before releasing it. But perhaps not - after all, this is the guy who resigned from the team which had just promoted him with a handwritten note stating, "I resign as HC of the NYJ". Not much thought put into that one, either.

Some of you will no doubt attack me for daring to suggest that BB is fallible. I don't want anyone to misunderstand - I still love the guy, and I wouldn't want anyone else as our coach. But I can separate my overall opinion of the man from my reaction to this apology. I agree he should have mentioned the fans.

Re: What about the FANS.

You're in trouble now.
You must hate the Patriots, right?
A true fan can't dislike any action of a Patriot.
Didn't you get the memo? Bandwagoner. j/k
All this reminds me of librals being called out by republicans, saying their not patriotic, cuz they are against the war.

I started the thread, and it was just to see how everyone else felt, I didn't feel offended that he didn't offer an apology to the fans, but I thought maybe he should have, I voted no in the poll and said so many times, but still got crap like i'm not a fan. so I know what your talkin about, but it's kinda of funny to me.

P.S. Just for the record I am a Republican.

Actually, I do think the fans are the most important party in the scenario.

Without them, there is no NFL and Bill Belichick is a history teacher at Annapolis High School.

yeah but, Thats a Classic, "I resign as HC of the NYJ"

If you don't feel included in 'everyone affected by this' then just what are you? You want him to name you personally?
not me personally, but maybe me, you and the rest of the loyal pats fans, yeah maybe that wouldn't hurt.

If he didn't say ownership, and just assumed that Kraft would know he was involved with "everyone" then I wouldn't be surprised if he would have been offended.

You sound more like a Communist to me... just kidding lol. :D It's really an excellent analogy. Some people attack anyone who disagrees with their opinions.
