Who would you have cut to keep him? While I understood it, I didn't like seeing Martin get cut. I thought he did pretty well in this offense and was a nice veteran presence at KR/PR last year.
Kilgo has to stay for 3 games right? Taken off practice squad of another team??A DT would make sense now that Branch won't be suspended.
I think he just has to get paid for those games.Kilgo has to stay for 3 games right? Taken off practice squad of another team??

Nope. Kilgo could be released. Not certain, but I think he has to stay on the 53
2016 NFL Practice Squad Breakdown: Rules, Size, Eligibility, SalaryIf a practice squad player is signed to the active roster, he will receive a minimum of three weekly paychecks, even if he is released before spending three weeks with the new team.
Considering how other teams are usually all too eager to pounce on Patriots' scraps, I think it's worth noting that Martin's not playing for anybody. Not disqualifying, but something to consider.Keyshawn Martin is an experienced punt returner, knows our playbook well, and is more likely to adjust well to the rigors of late-season pro football than either a rookie like Lucien or a 2nd-year player like White
Kilgo was released by the Broncos, we claimed him on waivers. We didn't take him from their practice squad so he could go at any time.Kilgo has to stay for 3 games right? Taken off practice squad of another team??
Doesn't matter much as that person will barely be used. The answer is more 2 RB sets. I would be happier seeing White/Lewis split out wide than some JAG WR or TE at this point.
The Pats still have Bennett, Edelman, Hogan, Mitchell, White, Lewis. Those guys should do the lifting and if someone else needs to catch a ball on occasion toss one to Develin or Blount for a short gain.
No need or reason to use anyone else or try to break anyone in at this point.
At this point offensive the guys who should nearly always be on the field are Mitchell, Edelman and Hogan. Add in 2 of Blount/White/Lewis/Bennett/Develin depending on what you are trying to do.

There was no foreseeable need for 5 WRs at cutdown time.
Three traditional healthy receivers is a bit light at the position.
Bruh, that would be incredible, but I doubt it'll ever happen. I agree that Martin is likely though I think White or Lucien may be more likely - but IMO I don't think they'll bring in anyone.Okay, slam me for it, but if he's in shape and up to it, I'd love to see Welker step in for a few games. you know Brady would be back on the page with him in 5 minutes, and we're talking 3-5 catches a game here.
My guess is Keyshawn Martin, though, because he can play special teams.
Wouldn't break my heart to see AD back, either. He did have a 100-yard game before, and a decent rookie season. Knows the system and can play when he wants to.
