cooper was a low risk wildcard to the pats......if coaching can get him to where he is supposed to be, then they will have made out like bandits........from the cardinals standpoint, I think they were disappointed with cooper and dealt him rather than decline the option year....basically, both players are on 1 year prove it deals plus the pats got the 2nd rounder

cooper is an athletic guard that does not relieve the pats need to find a decent OT prospect

Who cares where he was picked? It what he's doing now.
Where he was picked indicates his skill level.
He broke his leg as a rookie and missed the whole season. He started 9 games last year.
You don't toss away a guy with that pedigree over a 1.7 mill bonus

1.7 is peanuts.
he was the 7th pick in the draft.

Would the Patriots pay a $1.7m roster bonus and keep a $4.6m cap slot for a swing tackle who didn't start?

Do

Do.not.want.Harvin.
I would love Harvin. He would do so well in our system. And his stock is so low he'd easily be had on a modest one-year deal. I'm sure he'll get hurt, but I'd just love him.

BB want to give the finger to Goodell
You trade for Josh Gordon then sign Ray Rice.
I would wait for Gordon to be reinstated first. If we trade for him now, Goodell will decline his reinstatement!

Jones is going to rip it up in Arizona being able to pin his ears back. Hopefully Cooper won't continue to suck and embarrass us in this trade.

What's the cliff notes on him? LG, RG, or both? Starter for them?

he's had a string of injuries + has pretty much been a bust for them --- benched for ted larsen
also, essentially in last yr of rookie deal

Well If the Pats were not going to sign Chandler anyway it is a good trade assuming Cooper contributes this year. I doubt he is here next year but he gives you potential instant impact which you want seeing as losing Jones does hurt you on the defensive side.

I am curious what their plans on in this draft. I don't want to trade these picks down or for next year. I want players now to win now. Brady is not getting any younger.

Isnt he more like 2.5 new money not 4.6.

Oh man. Well, nobody can say that the Pats offseason is boring now. There's your carrot!

As far as this trade goes, I think it's an absolute steal. Cooper was also projected to play C this year for AZ. So it provides interior OL versatility. I liked Jones for what he gave to the team during his tenure, but I was never really enamored with him. And as they say...

Yea, he didn't try coke, just go with it.

They will use Easley at RDE a lot in the base.
