Hannah Storm on ESPN Today Claims Patriots Filmed Rams SB Practice

She countered Ditka's point about how great the Pats are and how they don't need to cheat with:

"Well, some would say that the filming of the practices earlier that...that DOES qualify as cheating, which is certainly something that is part of the Patriots' history".

The words don't do it justice. You have to see the video to understand how she was making an unsolicited counterpoint to Ditka's opinion - - interviewer became debator.

Of course, Ditka was too uninformed to swat that away.

At this point, Kraft should threaten ESPN with a defamation suit - - this episode in particular is an open and shut case.

Lmfao. Can Kraft just sue them please ? They already had a graphic saying we taped the Rams earlier in this fiasco. Fml

Thanks to those who provided summaries of what was said. Someone should tweet this to the Patriots and let them know this is how people view their franchise. Make sure they know what lies are said about them daily to an audience of millions.

Suing them would cost money so that idea is probably out the window for Bobby.

and people think goodell helped the pats by destroying the tapes.

first thing. libel is written defamation. slander is spoken defamation.

second. she didnt say they cheated, she said "some would say". so no, there is no defamation there.

espn's only problem with this whole thing is they should only allow people who know what they are talking about to speak on air

No you are wrong. The "some would say" is in reference to whether or not taping a practice is cheating. She stated that the taping was "certainly" part of the Patriots' history. That is stating the taping as a fact, not conjecture.

But we are all patriots so maybe he can ask us to chip in

I'd be town to chip in a hundred bucks. Not for Kraft's sake, but for the fans'.

HS: "Some would say that the filming of the practices, earlier, that DOES qualify as cheating, which is certainly part of the Patriots history"

the "some would say" qualifies as to whether taping practices, which she absolutely claims to be true, meets the definition of being cheating or not. She absolutely makes a false claim, and merely qualifies whether the crime (that didn't happen) should have the label of "cheating"

Her statement didn't leave it up for debate whether she believed they filmed practices, she stated her opinion on what others would think of such practice. then again any first year law student could probably get that statement thrown out, but getting ESPN to owe up to the numerous falsehoods they spread would make a damning case.

So, perhaps Kraft can go after the totality of offenses rather than the specific instance? I've heard similar lies spread numerous times.

Beat you to it ;)
