You're telling me Pennington would not have been able to carry the offense in the second half vs the Colts in the 2010 ACFG. Are you kidding me? Oh and yeah we would have beat the Saints, no doubt.

Oakland's not leaving a franchise QB on the board at #1
Derek Carr has played excellent this season, their not taking a Quarterback. I can already see the fear creeping in you! All you can do is pray and hope, that we don't land Mariota.

Had Pennington stayed healthy, we'd have a superbowl right now, if not several. I have no idea if he would have been better than Brady, I doubt he would have, but even YOU can't deny that we would have stole another divison title or two if Chad had a healthy shoulder.

Oh jeezus, I laughed so hard that I just shat my pants on that one.

Please tell me what color the sky is in your world whilst I go change my shorts.

Wait.... so Pennington stays healthy, yet your salary cap, draft picks and positioning, and free agency don't change a lick?

Derek Carr is not a franchise altering QB. That's already obvious. The Raiders will not let Derek Carr stop them from drafting said franchise QB. The Jets will probably draft a guard at number 5.

#Because they're the Jets.

I remember when I'd read Patriot fan fourms a decade ago, and your fans would bash Peyton for not winning a superbowl. Now you guys are doing this, Oh, how the might have fallen! Just salvage your last few years of the great Tom Bradu, and that snake Bill.

And why do you think this? I'm curious.

We would have still had the same pieces in place. As much as I like Sanchez, if you put ANY competent veteran QB on that roster we would have won the Superbowl.

Ah, the old "wait til next year" thing.

It was cute when Red Sox fans pre-2004 clung to that hope, and it is equally cute when New Jersey fans do the same. It took 86 years for "next year" to finally come for the Sox. So chin up, you're half way there!

However, I am still trying to recover from the laughter of Jets boards 10 or so years ago insisting Pennington was better than Brady. How many failed QB's ago was that?

Wait'll next year, indeed.

So let's see... Brady, Cassel, Hoyer... what other starting Brady-era QBs are still in the mix? Oh yeah Ryan Mallett.

JEST have something like that though... Sanchez played reasonably well last week, once out of NY. And also Vick had some very good years, for other teams. And of course Pennington, that guy and five others were better than Brady in the 99 draft :)

Yeah it's a QB driven league. I guess you like your team's record as regards drafting QBs. That's the ticket. Everything else will fall into place.

Come on man, why, why do you do this to yourself? Do you hear yourself? You're talking about hoping for a good draft pick. It's November.

If you get your franchise QB, yes everything will fall into place. It's not easy, obviously, anything is possible.

It's always a relief when they go from "Going to win the super bowl" to "could have won that super bowl." Usually happens shortly after the beginning of the regular season :)

Here's a thought: What if Sanchez really was good? What if the JEST just break quarterbacks?

When the Jets win the Superbowl, it will happen within the next five years, I will remind ALL of you guys of this thread. In the words of Bart Scott, Can't Wait!

Nope, I think the faliure of Sanchez was due to Rex's knowledge of offense(or lack there off)

Why do you think Carr is not a franchise QB? Thus far, he's shown the traits of a franchise QB, in my opinion.

This is just more evidence that you don't know football. It's up there with your Sanchez post.

Hey, guess who the 3 multi-game starters with the league's lowest yards/attempt ratings are? No, don't guess, let me help you:

Michael Vick - 5.18
Derek Carr - 5.65
Geno Smith - 5.88

Franchise QBs right now.... all of them!

The Jets would not have had the same pieces in place. Thinking they would have is idiotic, to put it kindly.
