Steve Tasker is the worst TV commentator the Patriots have ever dealt with

The guys commentary was so bad i wanted to literally jump through my TV and strangle him. Please don't ever give me the displeasure of having to listen to him again or i will watch a stream online en espanol.

Jacks...I think Bob Trumpy would give Tsker a run for his moneyless....:D:

Someone suggested a drinking game on Twitter . . . "Every time Criqui & Tasker make a mistake, take a drink. Good luck."

That would have been a recipe for liver failure.

Why do you think he usually gets bottom of the barrel announcing assignments?

And yeah, he was epic turrible today.

And yes, living in Cleveland, I've heard a lot of Tasker over the years. You guys in NE are lucky living in a city with a competitive team.

Know for a fact he called it "horrible", pretty sure he threw in an "absolutely" or something as well in there.

Also, every time Brady threw it away he demanded it was intentional grounding. The one time the Browns got called for it, he said it was the wrong call. He then got noticeably giddy anytime the Browns moved the ball and sounded genuinely depressed when the Patriots progressed.

His first reaction to the amazing onside kick was "But wait, did it go 10 yards?! Did Gost touch it?!"
Not to mention every dropped pass was "a terrible throw by Brady"

"And there's an injured Patriot on the field. It's Devin McCourty."

*McCourty stands with his back to the camera while Dennard is tended to*

"The Patriots' mantra is one word: Situational football."

I totally need to stop replying to this thread over and over, but these two were too awesome. Thx for reminding me of them.

At least you weren't blessed with Matt Vasgersian. :p

That has to be the worst broadcast I've seen since he old NFLN Thursday night games. Bad play by play. bad color, bad camera work...just awful. Good outcome though

This has been a trying season for us Patriot fans, all these games being called by Dierdorf, Tasker is leaving me with serious psychological damage, lol...

I take back anything negative I have said about Nantz and Sims.

I did just that....couldn't stand to listen to it anymore.....
I did the same. I literally had my thumb on the mute button from the middle of the first quarter onward.

No, I don't think I am.

eta: Hey, it was Don Beebe. That's so weird, I have an entirely different memory and according to the google search I just ran, so do a lot of other people.

It's like the "Ainge bit off a guy's finger" story that has circled the globe over the years.

By the look of everything being written here, it was a good time to be viewing the game from the 45 yard line at Gillette, and not watching or listening to the game on the boob tube.

I didnt read this whole thread but couldn't agree more with the OP. Tasker should be removed from the broadcast booth. He was that awful. Between all the "Jordan Campbell" calls and his openly rooting for the Browns, he was disgustingly annoying.

"and it looks like maybe Gostkowski touches the ball before 10 yards. Hold on a minute, he might have touched the ball before 10 yards". "No he didn't *sounding disappointed*.

Disgraceful!

Also, while the PI call was a bad call IMO, Tasker left no doubt about his thoughts. "That is a soft call. That is a terrible call!! That is a terrible call!!!"

Crique wasn't much better with his reference to the PI call on "James Boyce".

Terrible announcing!

It is very strange that commentators can be so bad at their job when there are so many ex-players/coaches who would jump at the chance for a commentator gig. I've never heard such blatant bias by a commentator. That crew needs to go.

It was funny to see the commentators gushing over the Browns as an organization. It's the worst one in football

No, actually they're on the right track. The New Jersey Green Beans are the worst in football.

Getting the names of the players right is pretty basic for a commentator and they failed epically at that.

What I found more hilarious was the 'I don't think he's going to get a fine for that' comment re: the hit on Edelman's TD grab. Completely ignored the fact the shoulder had clearly impacted the head/neck area.

Edelman nearly took another dirty shot at one stage too, when their defender recklessly launched himself high on Edelman. Had he not ducked, that hit could have crippled him.

It really is. But what is so bizarre is I actually have a memory of reading a story in some magazine about how he (Tasker) got a bunch of fan mail of people thanking him for being their inspiration and not giving up specifically because of that play. Either that was actually Beebe in the story or Tasker got a whole bunch of useless fan mail.
