Thru week 6 Amendola has only proven his critics correct…

To those calling for Amendola's release-Stick to Madden, you don't know anything about real football.

At least this thread demonstrates the kind of people who left that game or turned it off yesterday, and say what you want about Amendola, he isn't a quitter, you people are.

Ivan

I agree with you, anyone calling for his release is stupid. I also think he needs to learn to play smarter football so he doesn't get injured so much. He is tough as nails and has proven that time after time....people harp all over his injury history to validate (incorrectly) that he is made of glass...

All his injury history tells me is that he tries so hard to make a play that he ends up getting hurt in the process. The best folks in teh game realize its better to live to play another snap then get that first down, thus the reason you see all the smart QBs slide early when they have plenty of room to make it and other QBs like Vick that will keep running and inevitably end up injured.

I see Amendola the same way, sometimes its good to go down...maybe yesterday is or isn't a good example of this but putting that injury aside, look at all his other ones...all of them different, and many people call that bad luck...its not bad luck...its poor decision making.

I'd imagine brady6 has been the most added name to ignore user lists over the last month.

Yep, agree completely. The arrogance and level of self importance is really off the charts. I'm guessing he has been off the meds for his acute narcissism.

Yesterday was a really bad day for the LEGION OF THE MISERABLE, from Brady not being done as a player, to the defense really stepping up, to the way the depth played, and even the signing of Austin Collie, who as well know "never should have been signed," it was all in all a very bad day for them, as they really and truly look like the idiots they really and truly are.

On the other hand it was a great day for their "pitiful roster," and for those of us homers who are blinded by our rose colored glasses. I took the Patriots, stuck with that game to the very last play, and I'm pretty much positive I won the football pool at work and taking the Patriots is going to be the difference. That was as much fun to watch as any Patriot game i have seen in years and years.

Sorry, I've never known how to counter the "I'm rubber, you're invalid...." response.

I usually prefer someone respond with some type of tangible or even intangible evidence would suffice to support their disagreeing with me, simply saying Brady6 your wrong, or better yet Brady6 you dumb idiotic moron how could you be stupid enough to write this – well those things don’t exactly scream educated response to me, they just scream shortsighted irrational ******* who is likes to skip through life ignoring facts and blaming everything except themselves or the persons and things they support for what goes wrong life.

But if you cannot understand I guess you could just ask yourself the question before you begin typing “can I add value to this discussion” and if the answer is no then you should click out of the post.

I am not calling for his release right now and nobody else did either, Ivan likes to exaggerate and add dramatic effect to his posts in the same way a fiction writer adds to his books. What I said is if the current contributions by Amendola continue through the remainder of the season we should release him and resign Edelman to be the starter and invest the left over money elsewhere. If Lloyd’s 70+ receptions and 900+ receiving yards were not worth $3 mil to us last offseason it seems really unlikely that Amendola’s projected 40 receptions and 400 yards would be worth $5 mil this offseason.

I think he led with the shoulder pad but there is no doubt he ended up hitting him with his helmet. I'm not saying it was intentional but it was definitely the reason Amendola was knocked out.

I've seen some calling it intentional. I don't think there was anything intentional about it. It's basically a **** happens sort of thing.

I see it a little differently, and it is one of the reasons i was so vocal about re-signing Welker. Playing in the sot is a dangerous way to make a living, these guys take the most vicious hits imaginable from really big, really athletic, really violent players, and staying on the field while enduring it is really tough to do. Welker for some reason seems to be the exeption to the rule and manages to keep active while getting the life beaten out of him, and i still wish he was here rergardless of all of crap that has been spewed about him by his detractors, who are in fact ******ed. Amendola is a really good, really tough player who has had a run of bad luck, nothing more, and i wouldn't even consider getting rid of him. hopefully he regains his health and wants to keep playing because if he does he will be a critical piece of this team going forward, and he will make the idiots crapping on him look every bit as stupid as they looked after yesterday's game, because it's all the same crowd, and they were obvious by their notable absence at the end of that game.

It is not a question of someone being able to take the hit it is about being a smart enough football player not to put yourself in the position to take that hit.

Please tell me u aren't also complaining about gronk not playing.

I agree, that's how i see it as well. unfortunately that's part of the game, what was actually much more egregious to me was the shilling from jonathan kraft before yesterday's game calling for an 18 game season and expanded play-off's. How anyone could watch the beating these players take and claim to care about the players while calling for more games is beyond me, it is simply unmitigated greed on the part of the owners and the Kraft's should be the ones to lead the charge against it, not spearhead the action for it.

There's a big elephant in the room you're ignoring there, namely Lloyd's purported character.

And for all the people who said he could have ran out of bounds, he was a good two yards from the sidelines when he got hit. Of course if he did run out of bounds, people would have killed him for not picking up the first down.

So getting injured makes more sense than to suffer fan criticism?

Also, it's tough to pick up first downs when you don't play due to injury.

The big elephant in the room is actually Brady6 crying about being misrepresented when in fact most of those responding to his latest moronic thread are pretty clear about just how stupid it is. he should have simply wished Amendola the best for recovering from a nasty hit and instead chose to trash him, that's just plain old ignorant and he deserved to be called out for him.

I agree letting Welker go was stupid but Amendola isn't just unlucky IMO....He bears some for the blame for his own injury history that's all I am saying.

When push comes to shove though, there are only 53 roster spots available..A fully healthy DA would be awesome on this roster, but a DA that is constantly injured is not. I think that is all Brady6 is trying to say and he has a valid point.

As far as comparing him to Brandon Lloyd, its a little bit different, Lloyd would just fall once he caught the ball it seemed, his YAC was non existent pretty much.

The sample size of games we have seen from DA is too small to even have a discussion on cutting him at this point. I mean if he does finish the season as he is currently trending, its a discussion to have in the offseason(And it will be had...trust me), but not right now and not after that brutal hit yesterday.

The way I see it, the man sacrificed his head to try to get us a first down and that is commendable, I just wish he wouldn't do things like that so often...play more downs, catch more passes, go out of bounds, fall to teh ground, give your self up when you see you are about to get slaughtered, but for the love of all this is righteous, please do not allow yourself to be hit like this...you won't last at all.

We need him to be healthy, we want him to be healthy

lmao-I'm sure that was just the choice he was making, "do i go for the 1st down we desperately need and piss of the fans or do i run out of bounds to save myself from getting hit....?" "Man, Brady6 and Snake eyes are going to be pissed if i get hurt..."

The irony is awesome, as only those who have never played any contact sport would think that a good player would think like that.

I often want to use Lloyd's "I don't want to talk to you anymore" on some certain people on this forum.

No, to be fair to Brady6, firstly he's prepared to have an opinion and defend it and secondly he'll try to back up his opinion with facts. I think he's wrong on this thread and doubled down far too much but I can at least respect his attempts to support his theory.

Just like I did you in the Tebow days :)

This is one of the reasons your one of my favorite members in here just so you know!

What annoys me about this thread and others lately is I make a comment about the Amendola not doing well during the 6 weeks and if his performance continues we should make a move in a different direction, instead of seeing the relevance behind my not thinking it is a good idea to duplicate this at a $5 rate next season people either:

• Exaggerate it and make comments like I am demanding he be released by the start of the Jets game.
• They lay out a laundry list of excuses that even if there true don’t change the fact Amendola has not played well in the first 6 games of the season, it’s like running out of gas and saying well it only happen because there was not a station open in my city, well your still out of gas on the side of the road and your still walking your ass to get some.
• Make up a bunch BS but do their best to make it sound legit.
• Or my personal favorite is they attack me personally, call me names, make fun of my threads, and refer to them as in a condescending manner like another winning thread here.

In my world facts are facts, if I wanted to fight about things that don’t matter or make sure everything I say has the correct level of sensitivity I would go fight with my wife, she lacks the ability to segment discussions and like in this thread turns everything into this broad scope discussion in order to avoid actualities. I don’t do that, just like I don’t ignore the lights that come on when I am flying a plane at work because eventually the reality sets in that despite my best effort to ignore that light being on the reality of the light is now setting in and we’re about to crash into the Atlantic ******* ocean because I was to ******* stupid to realize that just because the plane wasn’t doing a nose dive just yet didn’t mean that light being on was not a big deal.

It becomes exhausting to try and have a discussion in here sometimes and it is a shame, things don’t have to be this difficult people should be able to disagree without attacking each other **** say Brady6 I like to pretend the world is roses and butterflies I will say cool bro sorry to **** with your vibe, just don’t come running at me spewing insults and acting superior when you’re not even taking them time to provide any justification for your response, like Obama standing at the podium telling congress your wrong you morons, do you think that would go over too well in the general public?

It's a lot more complicated than that IMO...Welker did it successfully for years and rarely was criticized. I have seen some folks on this very forum criticize Brady when he slides to early too but Brady gets it. I honestly get and understand both sides of the argument here...it can be a double edged sword no matter what he did. That sucks but that is football. There is defintely a reason why Welker has been so damn successful at the same role though and that is not disputed.

Wes Welker would not have done anything different than Amendola did. Amendola ran a textbook route and did everything right to protect himself. It was an one and a hundred shot that it knocked him out.

If you think Welker would have ran it any differently, you haven't watched Welker.

Please tell me u aren't also complaining about gronk not playing.

No I am not - Gronkowski to me has had 1 injury that has affected him significantly during his time here, the back was an offseason procedure would have never even been highly discussed if not for its closeness to the arm surgery and he played through the ankle injury. Amendola doesn’t play football fulltime, if it was not the head injury it would have been something else, like I said earlier him on a football field is like dropping your iPhone on the ground over and over again, many times you’ll reach down pick it up and it will be fine but you know it is bound to break at some point.

Pop in some game tape of the things Welker did over the past 6 years, Amendola could have done any number of those things.

Not when he's being held up by a defender. But, far be it from you to admit that..

WTF man, do we have the same wife????? Mine disregards facts too...it is honestly exhausting arguing with her on anything.
