Gronk: arm injury

LMFAO at all the jokers here getting hysterical because someone thinks it's a poor decision to have banged up guys like Welker and Gronk, [plus Brady] out there in with 2 minutes to go in a 4 TD blowout.

Guys who are integral to the success of this team.

Each one who has suffered an injury that very well has cost us a SB over the last 4 years.

When it's the homers around here that become this kneejerk it's truly comical. :eat2:

Or you could realize that healing rates for children are significantly faster than for adults, but that Gronk would be an adult in this case.

Just a thought.

Healing rates of children are faster than adults. Young adults also heal faster than older adults. A 23 year old doesn't heal at the same rate as a 31 year old man. The 23 year old has higher growth hormone thus healing faster. This is a known and proven fact.

Just because both are "adults" doesn't mean they will heal at equal time. Age has a major role in the healing process.

Why was an injured all year Gronk on the field for ANY reason with 3 mins left in a blowout?? Why was bad ankle Welker back to receive a punt in the 4th qtr?? Was was Brady in at all. Why was I seeing Vince bouncing around when the Patriots had 40 + on the board??? This has been an issue many folks have had with Belichick for years. He exposes his key players to injury by leaving them in games far too long. Was only a matter of time before it bit him in the arse. He owns it.

Weren't you byatching about the offense not closing games out, and now they do close out a game and you byatch some more? And didn't you say how awful this defense was, incapable of protecting a lead?

Belichick trains this team to go 60 minutes. The game environment against an opposing team represents a unique opportunity for team development, but football play involves some risk of injury. It is the reason preseason includes practices with other teams. Belichick is infinitely more intelligent than you are in terms of winning games and strategies to do so. The injury was a freak injury. Deal with it.

Were you playing in an NFL football game 2 weeks later?

Of course not, but i was playing football again after three weeks. That's how I broke it in the first place.

Bone breaks heal back stronger than before. If he healed in 4 weeks he could play in the 5th.

Funny. I remember fluke plays, the defense....and dropped passes being the reasons why we lost those Superbowls.

First off this sucks. Second I am not a Doctor and I don't know the extent of this injury. What I do know is that my 7 year old son broke his forearm over the summer falling off a fence. He had a cast on up to to his tricep and it took six weeks to heal. No way Gronk comes back in 3-4 weeks. It is not like you can rehab a broken arm and there is nothing that can be done to speed up the healing process. Seems to be the best case is that he comes back for the playoffs if the pats make them.

Your claim was that the 8 years would make a "big difference". Here's an orthopedic site with some breakdown....

In children most of the fractures heal within 3-4 weeks, whereas, in adults they take 4-6 weeks. Elderly people have a more delayed course of fracture healing and it may take up to 8 weeks.

Bone Fracture Healing | Orthoped

So, in other words, the orthopedics that you mentioned as your "knowledge" don't seem to be buying your position.

Looks like Thursday will be Julian Edelowski day.

Good comedy? Ok...

I guess what I learned while studying for Orthopedic Sports Medicine before changing to Cellular Biology was wrong... Guess I better go inform my professors.

My understanding is that once your bones have stopped growing -- usually in your late teens -- your rate of healing tails off, and stays pretty much the same until you reach the geriatric stage.

Haha this is priceless, just getting better and better. You don't think Gronk's injury had anything to do with last year's loss?

Maybe you could brew up some forearm bone stem cells and lure Gronkenstein to your laboratory in the abandoned windmill then. All you need is an electrical storm and voila, miraculous recovery.
(gawd, some people will make up anything to bolster their credibility.)

You do realize human growth carries up till around age 25, don't you?

Well, thats not what you said.

You said it COST us the superbowl.

It didn't. It was a factor among many....like the defense sucking when it mattered, and Welker dropping a ball that would have sealed it.

Gronk has plenty of his own Osteoblasts to heal his bones.

Was just watching the Ravens/Steelers and a Steeler defender just got whistled for tripping when he really just went flying past the running back and missed him. Not real sure you can make a case even for an attempted trip as he landed and bounced.

On the other hand that creep Pollard grabbed onto Gronk and whipped his legs around from behind which is how Gronk was injured before that SB. Pollard could have been flagged for any number of violations including a possible tripping call on that play and none were called. The guy in this Steelers game tonight whiffs completely...not even touching the back and gets flagged for tripping.

But not the bones, which in most cases stop growing in the late teens.

You're dense aren't you? Typical human growth lasts until age 25. Up to that age the body is in peak condition for cellular repair and development. After that age healing takes longer due to lower output of natural growth hormone.

10>18>23>31>45....

It's really quite simple.

I'm not dense at all. You just made a claim you shouldn't have. No harm would have been done if you'd just admitted your error. Instead, you've chosen to clown yourself.

Congratulations on that.

But not the bones, which in most cases stop growing in the late teens.

************ you really don't get it do you. The growth phase of the human body is called PUBERTY, which in males can last until 25, WHICH INVOLVES BONE GROWTH!

After that time frame the growth plates will no longer expand, they will just heal with Osteoblasts.

"Gronk" and "adult?" Not buying that one...
