OFFENSE
I'm fine with carrying a fullback and NOT expecting a TE to be a fullback. Lex Hillard is NOT that man. Apparently, Bolden is not that man either. Hilliard is useless; Boldin a little less so.

.
Didnt he only play 4 snaps? You must be a genuine genius if you figured out he is useless and incapable already.

While many expect Waters, Branch and Gaffney.. do not be surprised if there is someone completely different on the radar. The Patriot way...

Useless, meaning having no function. Roster spots have value; active roster spots have value. IMHO, Belichick will find someone with more value that Hilliard.

We'll see later this week.

Greg Salas, who was on the active roster but didn't play, contributed no less than Hilliard did, maybe more.

You said you were fine with carrying a blocking FB, but Hilliard is not it.
Your comment wasn't saying a FB is useless, but that Hilliard is.

How do you figure zero snaps is a bigger contribution than 4?

MY HOPE
That we add a WR, RB/FB and an OT.

I se no need for an OT. They have the same three and Kopa on PS, while getting well. That is what we had last season, less Light.

Did you notice that Marcus Cannon split time with Sebastion Volmer to no bad consequence, just like last season...

Will you call me a genuine genius too? I'll do anything in return. I've only managed to be called a dope, dingbat, space shot, moron, and simpleton. Somebody once called me Ray Ray's brother. I'm down man. I need an injection of self esteem. Can you spare a dime?

"no less than" does not mean "greater than"

Zero impact = zero impact

Plus the fact that Connolly was hurt on a play where he was being used has a fullback, while the fullback sat, adds some weight to the argument.

One game is just one game and all that, but Hilliard seemed completely worthless on the rare occasions when he found the field.

Keep an eye out for some transactions over the next 48 hours.
I don't know who to hope for besides Waters. Since they're balls to the wall with TE mania I hardly see a need for Branch to return.

They sure don't need the likes of Braylon Edwards. That guy could have made a complete career out of his dropped balls. Maybe he has an allergy to Jugs Machines or something.

Braylon Edwards? What? He's on the Seahawks.

I am a Branch Gaffney fan, but I think the last thing we need is aWR.
We don't need bodies, we need better players in some positions. I'm not sure with the exception of Waters who that might be. Are there tackles available that are better than what we have? I just don't think of anyone specifically that can help.

So the guy who played 4 plays is worth less than the guy who played zero because of something that happened on a play neither of them played?
Seriously?

If you think 4 plays for a blocking FB is enough to judge him useless, you are kidding yourself.

I wouldn't mind them bringing Jeremy Ebert back into the fold. Was he ever picked up elsewhere?

Sorry, you must earn it

I don't think dennard and bequette are going anywhere.....Bolden had a few good runs late. Not sure about his pickup of blitz/rush in the backfield. Bolden may hang around.....certainly if Vereen continues his fragileness......Ebner is going to stick on ST with a little CB work as well.....

DEFENSIVE LINE
We had Deaderick, Scott and Brace as backups. I'm not generally unhappy with only 12 front seven being active (plus emergency STers White and Rivera).

However, I agree that we have 1 or 2 too many roster positions used on the front seven.

DEVELOPMENTAL PLAYERS
We are carrying a lot: Francis, Forston, Bequette, Dennard, Hilliard, Bolden and Ebner. I am accepting that Rivera is getting his roster spot because of his special team play.

MY HOPE
That we add a WR, RB/FB and an OT.

Since the New England Patriots have six defensive ends on the roster, Francis may be the first to be released, barring injury at the defensive end position. It's obviously a waiver wire risk to get any player from the 53 man roster onto the practice squad.

The same scenario may apply to Forston, if and when Myron Pryor is activated from the PUP list.
