Already it begins - Revis takes a shot at Jets' front office

Seriously. Belichick seems to be, above all things, a pragmatist. The idea that we wouldn't sign the best CB in the game if the price was right and he was willing to play by the team's rules about the press is silly.

Everything being said about Revis you could say about a million times over about Moss...

No one said that if revis would come at the right price, and played by the pats rules that we shouldnt sign him.

The sentiment was we shouldnt sign him because he is selfish, won't play by the pats rules. wont come for the right price and publically calls out both his front office, team mates and other teams coaches.

PASS

Rex really is an idiot in that he lets his players speak their mind to the press. Just in this year alone:
- Cromartie Tweets bashing the Tebow trade
- Holmes says the Jets' system of two QBs won't work (Rex publicly admonishes him for that)
- Cromartie says he is second best WR on the team
- Sanchez throws his teammates under the bus after the last preseason game
- Revis trashes the front office for not giving Sanchez weapons

And they haven't even played their third preseason game. Rex says he has the pulse of the locker room this year. If he does, is he calling a crash cart yet?

The circus has begun without even a single snap in a live game yet. This is going to be epic.

This is too weird to see players taking shots at the front office and HC.

i think revis will leave after contract is up

The meltdown this year for the JETS will be epic, on a nuclear standard.

I can see Sanchez' ego collapsing, imploding like a black hole and taking a lot with it as the offense sputters and cries for TEBOW! ring down from the stands.

The finger-pointing among the players will likely start early, and the New York, New Jersey media will be like sharks smelling blood in the water.

Gonna be some wonderful press conferences, too. Not to mention Joe Benigno on the radio down there. Man might actually have a heart attack on air. not that I'm hoping he does, but some of his rants have been epic too. :rocker:
I agree.

and the basic problem is that Tebow will have ore success because he is more mobile and can extend the play (which leads to defensive breakdowns and opportunity). On the down side, Tebow doesn't seem to have the tools to light it up and will put pressure on the defense to keep the score low.

They'd score more points with Sanchez (my opinion), but Tebow will have more highlight moments and the media will be drawn to those.

Wouldn't it be the ULTIMATE kick in the pant to have happen would be this. After his contract year, Revis signs with the Pats for $5MM/yr. The rest of the league and the media are SHOCKED. When asked to explain this shocking turn of events, Revis is quoted. "Man, I got plenty of money already, and it ain't like $5MM/yr is chump change. Believe me, I can "feed my family" on that. No. I played for the Jets my entire career and looking up at the Patriots for all of it, except just one game. I just finally decided to play for the grown ups."

All that can be said is this; get your popcorn ready!

Seriously, this is a going to be meltdown of epic proportions!

That's the issue some of us have. . . . Would Mr. Revis actually play by the rules?

I am at the point now where I cheer and enjoy a Jets loss almost as much as a Pats win.
Their franchise misery has become my extacy!

So much of this!

And the ignorant and arrogant fan base thinks our antipathy is because we fear them.

Speaking for myself there is no fear at all. It is pure antipathy directed at a team which has done so many treacherous things to the Pats, and a fan base which refuses to own up to it, and bathes themselves in delusions of grandeur to try and cover up their inferiority complex. ( Hint for Rats fans; It isn't just a complex).

ALL of the bad blood was caused by the Rats.

You forgot to add while the Mrs is vacationing at her mother's. I mean...suppose it really happens?

Around here, we just call that "Saturday"...

Cool, now the Jets have their own "The Jets Suck" thread.

I love that the Patriots put so much emphasis on lockerroom chemistry..

That said, just remember that the Patriots have made good use out of players you would never have expected to buy into the team first / ego last mentality.

At some point in some football-divas careers they can evolve personally to the point they are ready for a team like the Patriots.

Yeah, no. He's a great corner but he didn't earn the nickname "Mevis" for no reason. Pass on this tool.

Not a pun.

He's the best defensive player in the NFL. If you took him off the Jets that defense would drop to the 20's. He's one of two players in the NFL (that already aren't on our team) that I'd break the bank for.

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE having the New York Jets as our foil?

I wouldn't want them to be any other way!

I don't want a player on a team who doesn't recognize that as a "team", there are other players on it too.

This isn't about breaking the bank, it's about not want a tool and a cancer around this organization. The guy can't get over how great he is. He wouldn't work here.

Edit: I would love if you took him off the Jets and their defense dropped into the 20's, just put him somewhere in the NFC, though, not my team.

Where are you getting this stuff from? Since when is Revis a cancer? Out of the many clowns in the Jets lockerroom and in the media Revis isn't one of them. If holding out a few years ago makes him a "me first" player then I don't know what to tell you. The Giants had a "me first, locker room cancer tool" on their team last year and their season seemed to finnish pretty well. That guy also got a new contract this off season.
