Bolt fans confident

They should be confident, the Chargers are a great team. San Diego are serious Super Bowl contenders in 2011, as are the Patriots, you guys think their fans should be fearing our team in any way? Why exactly?

This is how Chargers fans are every year. They beat their chests and strut around for a week, then the Pats beat them and they shut quiet down for another year.

While I think the Chargers can beat anybody on a given Sunday, I also think the Chargers can play down to competition and lose to anyone on a given Sunday. The Chargers fans who beat their chests obviously haven't been paying attention to this team's Jekyll and Hyde personality. This team can transform from awful to great to awful again in the same game. Until they prove themselves to have discovered some consistency, chest-beating is just stupid.

I'd agree with Rod. SD should be in the early season discussion of top teams. Just my 2 cents worth.

Hopefully they can get a stadium deal done in SD. While they do have trouble selling out, there's a large hard core base of fans.

Every year the media picks them to go to the superbowl or the conference match and every year they always come up short. They are in the second weakest division in football, every average team would look great playing in that division. I really think it'll be a easier game than against the Dolphins.

Vegas only has them behind the Pats, Packers and Eagles.

They led the league in offense AND defense last year and returned virtually all of their starters.

Seems like we're often picked to win the SB lately and we haven't won a playoff game in several years. This season is this season. We differ on our thought about SD. I think they're a playoff caliber team.

If he does get a ring this year in SD then you have to talk about him as one of the greatest coordinators and coaches of all time. The guy that turned aikman into a HOFer. The Guy that took Rivers to an elite level and brought the Chargers a championship. One of the best play callers of all time. Just 1 super bowl win away from that being true....

I agree with you that Norv is a great coordinator. I'd have to disagree that he's a great coach, let alone one of the greatest of all time.

You just gave the reason. They have the same players as they did last year when they didn't make the playoffs. Very hard to be a superbowl contenter when you don't make the playoffs.
