During his interview on WEEI today Belichick was asked about Chad Jackson and his 19 appearances yesterday. Belichick replied that he was only in for 4 plays and at that he was not the primary weapon.
Fred or DeOssie said the reporter was certain he was there for 19 plays....to which Belichick replied "Yeah, most of those were running plays and stuff like that."
Call me a fool but I believe this was a calculated move by Belichick. Perhaps realizing that Jackson has more to give .... which is a Belichick specialty ... sitting the bench and/or being put on the injury list is not doing the trick .... relegating him to scribes status on the field is an ego bruiser for some players for sure .... let's hope it works.
hard to tease a player not getting in a game .... that could help or hurt depending on the player....much easier to tease a player with "were you really on the field" jokes by the veterans.
BTW....Love that game after interview with Belichcik....he is very at ease with the Big O, Fred & DeOssie. Granted, lots of softball questions but it's still fun to hear Belichick talk football which he usually does not do with the general media.
