Absolutely love the move. It's a win-win situation. If Albert becomes a head case, we release him and only lose a 5th round pick in two drafts from now.

I think this move possibly spells the end for someone like Ty Warren. Although I'd like to keep AH - Wilfork - Warren as our starting DLine, I think taking on 5M in cap space for Haynesworth might have sealed Warren's fate. I just hope I am wrong!

Great point. Maybe we're seeing why BB didn't draft a pass rusher. He's going to a 4-3 with massive size up front and safeties and CBs coming from all over the place on passing downs. The depth at LB looks pretty solid now in a 4-3 and gives the young LBs more pass rushing lanes because the monsters up front have the attention of the offensive linemen. In the division, the QBs are less than frightening and the way to their hearts is through speed and confusion.

You ain't in Kansas anymore, Dorothy. Haynesworth better be ready to deal with guys like Wilfork, Mankins, Brady, Welker and Faulk who won't put up with any s#*t. Wait until Haynesworth gets a load of Sebastian Vollmer kicking his whining ass on the 14 days in pads.

The other thing that comes to mind is that this is money laundering at its finest. If he gets so much as a parking ticket, BB will turn around and trade Haynesworth for more draft picks to continue the youth movement.

As for the 3-4 thing. The Pats were in 4 man front sub packages quite a bit last year. He may be a pass rush specialist in subpackages. Granted he will need to redo his contract to get that.

Just posted in the other thread. If we can convert his salary this year into "signing bonus" (it's guaranteed anyway, so makes zero difference to either party), we can spread the cost out over his contract till 2015. This should reduce his cap cost to under $2m this year.

I live in Redskins country, and this is a high risk high reward move. The man is an unmotivated stiff. He's the most physically talented defensive lineman in the league, at the same time.

I don't like his attitude. I don't like how he got the big contract and then mailed it in.

Can BB and Co. light a fire under him? We shall see. It's far from a sure thing, but if they can, the defense just got alot better.

As for the $$ part, I'm pretty sure alot of it is already sunk in cost that the Skins had to pay. I'm sure we'll hear more about that.

The one part that has me scratching my head is that for a year all I've heard from Haynesworth is how he HATES the 3-4, and will not play in it, and a 3-4 team trades for him. I don't know what to think yet. Give me a day.

Ty Warren plays on the LEFT side of the line. Haynesworth is absolutely going to either play either RIGHT end or they'll kick him inside when we show 4 man looks. Not saying Ty doesnt have a great deal to prove, but that's gonna be on his camp performance. If he steps it up and shows he's ready to be the old Ty Warren, he's gonna be just fine, and this Dline depth will be sick. And Dline depth was a MAJOR problem last year in the playoffs.

I'd say more low risk than high!

A 5th rounder for a player who potentially is one of the best in the league, certainly low risk for high reward!

To put in perspective, Denver traded a 4th for Maroney!

He didn't want to play nose in the 3-4.

We play enough 4-3 sub packages AND with a Haynesworth/Warren/Wright/Pryor look we have four guys that can pressure.
