If he lost a bit of weight, might be able to do it?
Definitely can be done! Or we see more of Big V on the end! I'd like to see teams run on Vince and Albert!

So the big question is at right defensive end in the 3-4, and that's where the 6-foot-6, 335-pound Haynesworth could be utilized by Bill Belichick. The Patriots also run plenty of multiple fronts, featuring a four-man line, and Haynesworth could be part of that mix as well, helping with an interior pass rush.
Haynesworth was at his best when playing in the 4-3 scheme with the Titans, and seemed to prefer that over the Redskins' 3-4, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the way the Patriots utilize him.

Damn!
I like this trade! Haynesworth will know what BB isn't scared of getting rid of him if he is a pain in the ass!
I thought he didn't want to be in a 3-4???
I think this move possibly spells the end for someone like Ty Warren. Although I'd like to keep AH - Wilfork - Warren as our starting DLine, I think taking on 5M in cap space for Haynesworth might have sealed Warren's fate. I just hope I am wrong!
Absolutely love the move. It's a win-win situation. If Albert becomes a head case, we release him and only lose a 5th round pick in two drafts from now.

Good luck to anyone who tries to run between the tackles on us... they will be confronted by a brick wall!
a high risk high reward move
rt @michaelombardi: This year i expect haynesworth to have his best year. Nickel rusher inside. Pepper johnson will get him to play.
This guy is much more of a punk than Moss or Dillon ever were. I sure hope this doesn't bite BB in the arse. Wasn't his biggest gripe about Washington that he didn't want to play ina 3-4?
haynesworth does not want to play in a 3-4 defense, are moving to a 4-3 defense?
haynesworth does not want to play in as a Redskin. He most certainly does not want to play for Mike Shannahan
Let's clarify something.
He didn't want to play nose in the 3-4.
We play enough 4-3 sub packages AND with a Haynesworth/Warren/Wright/Pryor look we have four guys that can pressure.
Elite QB, best SECONDARY, four guys who can bring the heat
