Goodell to SI: Deceived by Belichick

If Goodell believed Belichik hadn't lived up to an agreement all he had to do was call him back in or issue a memo to him telling him he had to do so or face punitive action, that he didn't demonstrates he is full of crap on this matter.

Will this BS re:Spygate ever die?

Patriot hate at it's best.......

With this idiot commissioner leading the charge. He is a vindictive egomaniac and this puff piece is pure propoganda that would make Goebbels proud.
He has to be part of the story, I think he has a God complex. He is almost protective of the Rothlisbegers and Vicks because they show the public remorse. I don't believe either one but if they play ball, Goodell gets to fulfill his Christ fantasy, everyone looks good and he will minimize the punishment.
We know that's not going to happen with Belichick so the punishment becomes a massive overeaction, even though it is counterproductive to the overall good of the league and the top team of the last decade.

What Denver did was much worse than what NE did but McDaniels played ball,
and the punishment:

Denver taping practices = $50,000 fine
New England taping signals out in the open, nothing secret about it = loss of a 1st rounder, $750,000 in fines and the label of "cheaters" for everyone to use.

Goody needs to be careful here. As much of an ally Kraft is to him, he needs to be careful when attacking his employees- especially ones that have a direct hand in making his franchise the 3rd highest in total valuation.

If he starts to venture closer to tarishing the teams brand, Kraft may get a bit testy with Goody

My friend said it best just now after reading that. Bob Kraft has no BALLS. His words not mine. I usually defend our owner to the haters. But on this matter, I'm with my friend. This is Kraft's team. Shouldn't he remind this guy who he works for?

He does need to be careful especially when he is putting his own agenda ahead of that of the league and it's members. I would love for the Pats to start pushing back on this.

If the Pats had fired Belichick after the SB42 debacle, like they should have, this issue would be dead and buried. Thanks Bill.....

Regime change in Egypt....time for regime change in Foxboro....
They should havefired him for going 18-1?
Are you off your meds?

Not when idiot like Goodell keeps on making comments on something that happened 3 years ago. I would have tought that it would be in the best interest of the NFL not to re-surface something like this.

Unfortunatley, I have to agree. We've been waiting for the Patriots to speak up and stop alot of the BS floating around out there for years, now. And nothing has ever happened. Hell, Kraft had that dingleberry sitting next to him in the box this season (the game excapes me...GB?) and then he pulls this crybaby crap to Peter King? And naturally, scorned lovere King is going to print that; I was suprised it wasn't the first or last paragraph.

This is completely out of control. How can people in the Patriots organization just sit by and allow the to keep happening?

This guy continually exhibits a lack of good leadership skills. Dredging this up suggests an adolescent-like inclination to hold a grudge. He, and his followers, equate the implementation of Draconian (albeit inconsistent) disciplinary measures with effective leadership. It's a false premise.

Whew, it feels good that I'm not only the one with this kind of thought process, Mr.Kraft, time to man up and defend your team and fans

Commissioner blunder reveals that probably the best coach in the game told him to stuff it where the sun don't shine.

lol

Who looks like the spineless weasel here?

That ship has sailed. The brand is tarnished. As for me as a fan, I don't care about the branding. I feel good about the Patriots.

Naturally, this has been picked up by ESPN and is in the "Headlines" section of the website. I don't have access to ESPN at work, but I would imagine it is also on the news crawl.

You'd think between National Signing Day and Super Bowl week, they'd be full of stuff to talk about. I guess nothing drives news like the New England Patriots, which keeps me happy. If they ain't talking about us, we ain't relevent.

Goodell is a putz and step and fetchit for the owners nothing more. The NFL's lawn jockey so to speak.

Quoted for truth! Krafty needs to step up to the plate and knock that idiot off his pedestal. He's not doing the Pats, himself, or BB any favors by being quiet.

Goodell is a nit wit!

People feel deceived just about everyday. What world does he live in...

Like you, I could care less what other fans think. But from Kraft's perspective, I do look at corporate sponsorships and revenue opportunities that are lost because of Goody's shoot-from-the-hip style of commentary.
