What if Dez Bryant slides to twenty-two?

I don't think another team would be willing to put together a trade package attractive enough to coax BB into trading this pick. Questionable off the field antics or not, I'm confident BB would pull the trigger.

I feel it depends on whether or not DeMaryius Thomas is available in the second round. Let's say, Tampa Bay or Washington (neither has a #1 wide receiver) decide they've an interest in Bryant at twenty-two and either is willing to trade up in exchange for their second and fifth round picks. I could see Belichick considering this if it were offered. Actually, Tampa Bay owns New England's fifth...

It's feasible that St. Louis or Kansas City could select Thomas if he were there, but they've so many other needs.

Round 2

St. Louis
Detroit
Tampa Bay
Kansas City
Washington

:ditto:

Not to mention he will easily be the best value on the board if he slipped to 22 and with WR being a position of need, there's no way BB passes.

I don't know, a lot of teams need serious WR help. I am sure that if BB trades out of this spot, he will bleed someone. The question is can he bleed them as badly for the "best" in the draft as he can for a QB?

PS: BB no more trades with the Packers, because even though you bleed them, they seem to take great players. (Jennings, Mathews)

I hear what you're saying, I just feel that if a team wants him that badly that they won't wait for him to slip to 22, they'll trade for him earlier. Unless their motive is to only trade for him if he slips to 22 in order to get him on the cheap (22nd pick is going to be a lot more economical than trading into the teens or lower) in which case I think the offer won't be gaudy enough for BB to pass on Dez.

If it were a 2nd and 5th vs. drafting Dez, I say still draft Dez. If you could get a 2nd and a 3rd or 4th, getting Thomas with the 2nd and getting that extra pick, I think that would be good enough compensation.

Although when push comes to shove, I would rather take the guy with supreme football skills and questionable off the field antics to the guy with questions on the field and no apparent off field transgressions...

The same twitter account says he clocked a 4.32 40 last week.

yup.. but that was basically second hand.. This is his proday.. Much different

No, but if we could pick him at like 34-39 I would.

He ran a 4.52 40.

I don't think this is bad at all.

Are we forgetting that he weighs 225 pounds?

This is great about the bad 40 time. I didn't know much about Bryant until this week, but I've watched alot of highlights. He reminds me of Randy Moss as a Viking in looks and style of play.

He jumps up for the ball on alot of plays, his game speed looks fast.

I hope if he's there at #22 the pats take him.

This is a no brainer...You have to draft bryant at 22 if he is available...Bryant, edelman, welker for the next so many years....Holy crap look out

The guy "forgot" his cleats for goodness sakes! That is his excuse for his slow times:rolleyes: He supposedly dropped some balls, and overall according to Mayock his workout "brought up more questions, then answers".

PASS!!!

Who cares if he looks bad in workouts or drops balls with no pads on. Have you seenhis IN GAME highlights? He's larry fitz/randy moss.

If we can almost guarantee that we get Damaryius Thomas (my WR binky)with the pick we get back, and add another high round pick (#2, maybe #3 this year)
TRADE BACK!

If we can't, DRAFT BRYANT!

Either way, I'm happy.

There's a major difference in abusing small time Big 12 DB's as opposed to doing it to elite NFL DB's. The guys entire game is predicated on his physicality, he will struggle at that in the NFL. Take a look at the Georgia game last year. They knocked him all over the place, and pretty much took him out of the game with their larger CB's. Read any scouting report, and it will tell you he initiated contact in college, and like I said it works well on under achieving small time DB's, but when he tries to do that at this level he will be ineffective (see Ga. game).

Does the name Rashaun Woods ring a bell? Because according to many, they see this guy in the same light. Woods was extremely highly touted, coming out of Ok. St. and was nearly identical to Bryant, and where's he at now?

Where are you seeing that he forgot his cleats?

What I read was that there were 35 mph gusts playing havoc with his workout. Even his 4.52 time may be questionable because of the wind. But on the other hand, his 4.7 time was into a headwind. He was catching balls that were being whipped around.

First time I heard he didn't have cleats but... was he running on a track?

You mean against Georgia 2 years ago? He had a good game.

Last year.

He scored twice, but one was on a blown coverage, and the other was a red zone score. He only had 3 catches total in that game because they were knocking him off his routes on a fairly regular basis.

If we take him I hope you guys are right, don't get me wrong. It's just everything about this guy makes me a little nervous seeing where we would have to take him.
