OT: Jets could be dangerous in playoffs

He's a horrible QB? He didn't look like it last night.

Collinsworth said he was the least hit QB in the league. The Jets are great at RB but can't pass block? Well, I don't know, haven't seen them that much, they looked pretty good at everythign last night.

I will only mock that one poster if the pats lose. Most people here don't deserve to be mocked.

ultimately teams will or should stop their running game unlike the bengals did. i doubt even the bengals give up that much next week. which means sanchez throws more than 60-70 yards a game .so i wont read into sanchez's peformance last nite. kellen clemens couldve done the same IMO

No, I haven't "used it" on him. Great meaningful, insightful comment though.

Yeah, I confused Laron and Dawan Landry, and therefore the Jets suck even if they have the #1 rushing offense and #1 passing defense and no worries.

Idiot.

Yes you have the 1st ranked team in both total defense and points allowed, and 1st in rushing offense. Yet you are 9-7, why is that?

Because your QB has the 2nd most INT's in the league! You are completely one dimensional on offense. A much weaker version of the 2004 Steelers if you will.

The guy passed for 63 yards and no TDs and completed 50% of his passes last night against a team that had quit. No that is not a misprint, I mean SIXTY-THREE yards on 16 passes or 3.3 yards per passing attempt. Start building the Mark Sanchez wing in Canton.

Different schemes go into pass blocking and run blocking. He is also the least hit QB in the league because they never pass the ball.

393 pass attempts
607 rushing attempts
30 sacks given up
21 Interceptions

And they looked good because A.) They actually started to use Brad Smith in a Josh Cribbs type role (which will be shut down fairly quickly) B.) They were playing a completely disinterested Bengals team. I am a firm believer that you don't want to give confidence to a team, but people can't ignore that the Jets are the most flawed of all the playoff teams. If they make a Cinderella run and win, then I will be admit I'm wrong, but right now, I don't see it happening.

Jests don't even belong in the playoffs, they are in because their last 2 opponents laid down for them. Cindy was baiting them last night. Next week they get annihilated.

Even with the Jets running as much. Sanchez completed half of his passes. The Jets have taken a page out of the 1940s and are trying to make the QB irrelevant with the running game so he cannot make mistakes.

Sanchez had a mediocre game no matter how many times he passed the ball. With 16 passes, he should have gotten over 100 yards passing.

Id like to play the Jets again this year. Since that means we are in the Championship, at home.

Their defense is scary and matches up real well with us, but I still would like to see that game.

They have the #1 defense in the league and the #1 rushing offense. They certainly "could be" dangerous. So could the patriots. Are we more likely to be "dangerous"?

Sanchez will prevent the Jets from winning more than one playoff game. Bank it!!!!!!!!!

As stated, Jets ran over the Bengals.

The passing game was screens and short passes.

If you are able to stuff the Jets running game, you force Noodle-Arm-2 to throw much more than the Jets want.

This will cause the Jets to lose.

I consider the Jets to be very dangerous in the playoffs. Any team with a solid defense and running game can do damage. They actually remind me of the 1985 NE Patriots, who won 3 road playoff games behind Hog Hannah and strong ball control.

IMHO, the Jets' biggest weakness is at the QB position.

If Sanchez plays the game on Valium they could be dangerous ... could .. maybe ... perhaps ... :nono:

The Jets are a good side and Sanchez needs to fire to compliment their defense for them to be a real serious threat.

It's not rocket science.

No they can't

Imagine the irony if the Colts lost to the Jets in the Playoffs.

The only reason the Jets are even in the playoffs is Because Indy decided not to try to go 16 and 0.

Could you imagine if they lost to the team they put in the playoffs?

Wow, that would be Karma for you

Cha-ching. This.

People around here are letting their hatred of the Jest get the better of them.
This scenario would be beautiful on so many levels, the best being the possibility of the Sanchize coming into Foxboro in late January.

Unfortunately, Florio has a problem turning conceivable into probable based on two wins because the opponents gave up.

Also, it'a amazing how that he's the least hit because they don't throw it goes over so many people's head. That would only be solved when they make potential football fans take IQ tests.

The JETS are as dangerous as any of the playoff teams. Personally, I appreciate Florio and Francesa comments and hope they continue to suggest the JETS backed in or don’t belong. The JETS never play well when the media is singing their praises. Definitely prefer the chatter to help keep that chip on their shoulder.

The JETS have some flaws and most playoff teams have flaws but we also have a very winnable game this weekend. The Bengals rush defense has not been the same since Peko was injured (out for the past five games). He should be back on Saturday (may have some rust) but the Bengals are also without Rey Maualuga, another vital key to their rush defense. They also lost Pat Sims another wide body on Sunday night.

Lost in the muck...The Bengals haven't beaten a team with a winning record since beating Pittsburgh back on 15 Nov. They'll be motivated to show some redemption after the debacle plus they are playing at home but this game is very winnable for the JETS.

The Green Beans winning ANYTHING in the playoffs would be a crime against God and nature, a sure sign of the Apocalypse. That team would be 7-9 if not for Indy and Cincy throwing in the towel.

Much like the 1985 Pats.
