He does. Shalise Manza Young reported about an hour after the Casserly story yesterday that Brady originally broke them in the preseason vs. Washington, and re-aggravated them against NYJ in Week 2. Bill Simmons reported that he broke them in Miami. Our own poster, mcsully, reported in early December that he had broken ribs, apparently from an MGH source.
I'm not quite buying into what Belichick is saying here. I think he knows Casserly has been right more often than not, and isn't happy about it.
I think the difference might be semantics since one man's cracked ribs are another's broken ones and Charlie also had the index finger broken when it's pretty clear it was the ring finger (so he was only off a couple of digits...). I think his and Bill's dislike stems from Charlie's time on the competition committee, and his insufferable pompous arrogance... He's used his residual insider access as a failed GM who was a member of the influential competition committee that has changed the way the game is played often for the worse to build himself a lucraticve career as an analyst. Bill appreciate everyone has a job to do but he doesn't seem to cotton to those who think they are entitled to step on anyone in their path to achieve their goal.
