Still Think Maroney, Pees have to go?

THats what I'm saying.. He gets the benefit of playing in this formation when the defense has 5 DB's on the field & is playing the pass.

I can't respond to everyone posts here.. Sorry about that... About to finish up lunch and head back to work...

But the original post was that Maroney has only touched the ball 6 times in shotgun prior to this year.. Not this year, the previous years..

U really should read the entire thread before complaining that I cherry pick..

:sigh: I did read the entire thread. Nice excuses though

You specifically stated with certainty that Maroney gets the benefit of running out of shotgun and 5DBs. It's a ridiculous claim to make without doing any research or fact checking. I showed you this year alone he has a 4.6 YPC from formations other than shotgun. Keep backpedaling though...

Either post some facts, dispute the many facts given to you (without cherry picking 2 out of 10), or just admit to yourself that you don't exactly know what you are talking about and move on.

Anyone who's paid attention to this team and the running back position knows that Maroney hasn't run much out of the shotgun. Hell, that was one of the things some of us were discussing in the context of the former OC and his playcalling, along with the lack of utilizing him as a pass catcher for the past couple of seasons. Your refusal to accept this simple truth notwithstanding, Belichick pointed this out, in a roundabout manner, during his interview yesterday.

What?
Taylor and Maroney got about an equal number of carries when both were healthy.
Taylor had 1 game where he got extra carries because Maroney was injured.
Maroney 'lost' carries the last 2 games because the games were out of reach early.

Why would any RB lose carries when his team is up big? Isn't that precisely when you want to run the ball?

Not in New England. That's when Belichick wants the Kyle Eckels of the world to run the ball.

Why would any team subject their best RB to unnecessary beating in a blowout?

Paid attention to the team? I've been a season tkt holder for 17 years..

My opinion on Maroney is based on what I have seen of him. He's an average rb.. During BB tenure here, I think he is the least productive RB they've had (starting rb).. A. Smith an C. Dillion had better production..

I agree about the lack of effort to get Maroney in space.. His best attribute is running in open space..

1. Provide a link of the stats you are stating where he gets 4.6 YPC from other formations.. Maybe I'm expecting to much from a #1 pick...

2. YOu didn't read the entire thread or didnt' understand it but the post I was responding to stated "PRIOR TO THIS YEAR".. Nice try little guy..

I don't care how long you've been a season ticket holder. When you make claims like you have about Maroney and the shotgun formation, you let me know that you haven't been paying attention to the game.

And also has to run without a FB, with 3 or 4 WRs, and behind a line that is a passing offenses line, better suited to block for the pass than the run.

If it were such an advantage many teams would run from that formation, and you'd see a ton of 3rd down draws throughout the NFL .But you don't.

When I look at a person who has 11K posts.. Logic tells us that you have to post a lot to defend your position..

Because he is on the bench to not be injured when the game is out of hand.

Your logic is as poor as your ability to read formations.

You can go to espn.com and get Maroney's split stats for this year yourself. You already have proven too lazy to research ANYTHING and rather than use facts to back up your claims you attempt to call other people who actually looked something up liars.

Yes I can admit that I overlooked "prior to this year" statement in a post you responded to. I only found this year's formation statistics and would love to see Maroney's YPC in 06 and 07 outside of the shotgun formation. My guess is that they are pretty good and that you would only ignore them or make another lame excuse because it doesn't fit your "belief". The earth is flat man, don't let anyone tell you different!

Just stop trying to pass off your false beliefs as absolute truths with no proof and 0 facts.

A quick trip to another site just takes so much more time than constantly checking this thread and responding with nonsensical garbage...

Yea just stay away from the FACTS, they aren't your strong suit.

Resort to false accusations, throwing in the towel so soon? This coming from the guy who once said Mike Cloud was a better running back than Barry Sanders...

Buh bye now. I can assure you, you will not be missed. You've been responding for significantly more than 20 minutes today btw. Now take your lack of facts and run along.

.

Truth is.. People actually think Ngata is a NT.. And the Peyton thing is totally accurate..

Wow that is a whopper of a lie.. Mike Cloud better than Barry?? Maybe Barry Switzer..

Never said that.. But keep pumping up the BS..

Wow, what a great argument.
When you have to convince someone you know more than they do, in fact, resort to guaranteeing it, you've pretty much proven the opposite.
