I'm sure that we'd all like to get a top 10 quality player at 19. Of course, there are those posting who think that they can get such a player in the 2nd round.
In most drafts, there is a fuzzy line dividing blue chippers and the rest. Some years that line is at 6. sometimes at 12. And in most years, a blue-chipper slips, sometimes all the way to 23.
For planning purposes, I started this thread to list those who we might be interesting once they slip past the 10th pick since 11-22 should be available for a trade up for the right value player.
Some here don't need studs and don't need to pick in the top 15. Some think they can get them at 23, in the 2nd or in the 3rd. Certainly, we waited for Wilfork and Mankins. The issue is whether we have a serious need that can be met by moving up. Obviously, Belkichick is willing to trade when he sees the value, even in the first when he wanted a DE (Warren) or a TE (Graham).
Personally, I think that 23 is not a position where we should expect a stud, except perhaps a guard or a safety. We will get a good player, perhaps even a 2010 starter, and we COULD get lucky.
I would not trade the #23 and and a second to move up to 14; but i would consider a 1st and 3rd to move up to 19 or so is somene is falling...
