You're the coach, what do you do to "fix" the o-line?

Vollmer's coming back but even that won't be enough to make up for the putrid performance we saw today and over the past few weeks No one else is coming walking through the door until spring.

It isn't just about Brady holding the ball longer, though that's getting him hit more too. He is also getting crushed on little 5 yard dink and dunk passes. The o-line seemingly can't hold up for even 2 seconds, which is what he needs even with Edelman and Amendola. And he literally cannot do a PA pass without getting crushed as he turns around.

The o-line shouldn't be this bad. There is talent on it. Maybe not great talent but not this. Honestly, how are they this bad? Is it coaching? Scheme? It doesn't make sense. Especially since we are using Gronk as an extra blocker on tons of plays.

So what does BB and Goug do to try and fix this over the next 2 weeks? Because everything will depend on at the very minimum respectable o-line play.

If there was a way to fix this BB would have weeks ago because I'm sure the last thing he wants is brady getting killed every game.

Between injuries lack of experience and talent this cannot be fixed this year.

This o-line was playing significantly better in week 12 than in week 17. It had the same personnel. Solder got hurt in week 6 IIRC. So I refuse to believe it can not get at least a bit better.

Starting OL I'd like to see:

Vollmer - Stork - Andrews - Kline - Cannon

Rotate Mason, Jackson in at G, mostly for Kline

Maybe some consistency stop shuffling it around. Stick to one line?

Call Manning's wife and convince her to dump her stash by sending it to Vollmer.

Edelman will make the oline significantly better.

Using gronk down the seam will make the oline better.

Amendola running dig routes will make the oline better.

James white on the wheel route and screen pass will make the oline better.

While solder and Wendell are indeed not coming back, we have plenty of pieces returning that will significantly impact the oline performance.

Too bad Connolly retired. Who knew how good he was.

Draft ot Murphy of Stanford in the second round and hope og theus of Georgia falls to us in the third round.

Send cannon and fleming somewhere else.

I'm trying to open up a real discussion here. Offseason talk about the line will have its time later. Hopefully in a month.

Put one of these in front of them and hope for the best.

And yet, we had 3/4 of these options today and managed another one offensive TD performance. This time it was against the #30 ranked defensive rushing team, with a team who had previously gone 0-5 in the division prior to this afternoon.

I can't believe that other teams such as DEN or CIN wouldn't have been able to use the likes of Amendola, Gronkowski, White, Chandler, LaFell, and Martin to some capacity. The main difference is 1) the ineffective rushing attack, and going hand in hand, 2) the piss poor OL play in both phases of their assignments.

They didn't use Gronk like that much per sources who watched film. Amendola I think started to feel better near the end hence punt returns to keep fresh. Omar Kelly a die hard Fish reporter tweeted that based on game film the Pats mailed it in, and worked on things they needed for the playoffs. Why Brady was in their is beyond my comprehension though.

Take the week, which they haven't had since week 4 and work on some things hard. As I'm sitting here typing this that hit me. We may see a much different, healthier, and practiced squad come playoff time.

Here's hoping that you're right, and I'd have to guess that you'd be close to nailing it--but it's also somewhat understandable to be concerned just as well. Lots of question marks this postseason.
