The team had a long list of players that they wanted for their future and who were free agents last offseason and next. So far, they have re-signed or extended 11 and lost none.

Does anyone really think that a team should be able to come to a deal with EVERYONE they want to sign or extend? So far, management is 11-0. There are three more: Wise, Judon and Jon Jones. The team identified 14 key players that could have been re-signed or lost. Many here would have let most of them go. For me, I celebrate their success in being able to start their regime as they wanted to.

IN ADDITION, THIS TEAM THAT NO ONE WANTED TO PLAY FOR
1) were able to sign a couple of replacements in Gibson (3-years) and Takitaki (two years).
2) signed Uche and several players for one-year contracts. There is always the "normal' set of vets for a year.. A couple might even be part of the future (Hawkins?).
3) drafted 6 players that they wanted at the 3 key positions of need, not all that they or we wanted, but players that they think will be part of the future, at least 5.
4) plus, of course, have 7 of last year draftees to continue to develop plus Marcus Jones from the year before.
5) plus, we have the young CB's.
==========
BOTTOM LINE (27 isn't a terrible start of the 2025 and 2026 playoff teams.
12 re-signs or extensions (I presume that Wise will be extended now or at the end of the season.
2 veterans signed to multiple year contracts (Gibson and Takitaki)
5 2024 draftees
7 2023 draftees
1 2022 draftee (Marcus Jones)

THERE IS A LONG WAY TO GO
We do have some players who could develop.
I see us drafting a couple of top defensive players next year in addition to adding an OT.
Free agency won't be huge. A WR plus some now unknown major addition on Defense seems right, plus a couple of mid-level defenders.

They extended players from a 4 - 13 team.
