Yahoo:The NFL's officiating problem

I was so angry that I was sitting there just shaking going into OT. My wife was yelling at me for scaring the baby (which is absurd, he's 3 weeks old but trying to paint the picture.) I don't think I've ever been that mad at a game. Upset, sure. Mad, not that I can remember. We were 100% robbed and thankfully it looks like Gronk will be ok but that just would have been the cherry on top of a **** sundae.

The worst call to me was the one on Chung. Could have just escorted them into the end zone at that point. No way that call should ever be made. I said at the beginning of the season that if we let these games be close the refs are going to start screwing us and we saw it last night. Roger wants nothing more than for the Pats to have to go to Denver in the playoffs where Brady has a bad record.

I'm sure we'll get a letter apologizing. That should make up for it.

The league was showing it's integrity for all to see last night so surely they measured the PSI of the balls on a cold/wet night to see how the temperature drop and wetness would affect pressure? I mean a league that was about integrity above all else would want to be sure they got that correct, right?

Just got done watching that pile of hot garbage, sorry but that was the worst game I've seen in terms of officiating in a long time, no point sugar-coating it. You could tell Brady and Belichick knew it as well, absolute joke.

As far as PSI goes don't tempt them, next thing you know we'll lose all our draft picks

Except that the Ref did not do his job correctly. He is suppose to announce over PA system please reset play clock to 40 seconds and clock will start on ready to play.

True. However, he did announce over the PA that there was an "excess timeout". No excuses for Ernie Adams or whoever to not remind BB and McDaniels what the timing rule was.

The higher up you are, the less air pressure and the lower PSI would be than if the ball were at sea level.

I sure hope nobody took measurements in Foxboro BEFORE getting the pigskins on the plane.

I'm assuming that those morons knew that altitude effects air pressure.

Have you been watching the last three weeks? Last night was just the first time it cost us the game.

For example: on OJB's 87-yard TD he extended his arm as he pushed off Butler.

A sure sign that BB had no clue about the rule and did not expect Tom to know. He did not get after Tom. Tom made one of his VERY rare clock management mistakes in a 2013 game and Bill had to call a time-out. When Tom walked over, you could see Bill get in his face and before they panned out, you could lip read him saying WTH?

Anyone watch yesterday's Arizona game. Multiple times I posted the only explanation for several pro-Arizona rulings.....The Fix was In.
Goodell and his henchmen have clearly manufactured a winners list and the Cardinals are on top of it
I don't disagree with your conspiracy theory, as I acknowledge something fishy is going on, especially with the Gronk OPI's lately, but why would they choose Arizona of all teams? Is it some type of political power play or something?

I figure most fixes in sports are gambling related.

The best thing to come of the absolute farce that was SNF is people around the world now have a very clear indication of Roger Goodell's real version of integrity and that the only way to beat the Patriots is to blatantly cheat on the field. In a strange sense of the manner, now that this is getting more and more public attention, Goodell and Blandino do not have anywhere to hide. Everyone saw the NFL's hatchet job on SNF. If the media has any balls, this will become a major issue.

On the plus side, Tom Brady has been given another FU by the league. It's like they're seriously stupid enough to give him even more us vs them motivation.

**** them all. Go Pats.

Well I don't know who is at the top of the list for favored NFL* teams in the AFC, but I can tell you who isn't.

you knew it was going to be a long night when Corrente called the first penalty on the nfl*s prearranged list, ineligible receiver and the rest of the crew jumped on him

Touche, but that still doesn't explain why the league would choose Arizona in the scenario the poster presented.

Except that the Ref did not do his job correctly. He is suppose to announce over PA system please reset play clock to 40 seconds and clock will start on ready to play. He didn't follow proper procedure. While the ruling was correct, he did not follow proper procedure. It wasn't the first time in the game Tony Corrente didn't follow proper procedure. He messed up the Cannon eligible player and didn't see him nor inform Denver.
Heard today on WEEI that the guy who called the penalty on Gronk in the endzone is the same one that blew the call earlier in the year in the Seattle Detroit game, where the lb batted the ball out of the end zone. After that game, he was removed from Corrente's crew for the upcoming prime time Colts Pats game, but he's subsequently quietly been snuck back into primetime.

No we won't. If anything, we'll get a letter gloating and saying something like 'cheaters never prosper and karma's a *****!'
