And all of a sudden KT's career is over. Poor kid. Hope he saved some money.

We were all hoping he'd make it to the Practice Squad and be elevated as soon as an injury demanded. Too bad. Good luck, and continue building your American success story.

Should we all send him a card and sign it? Going into oak? Nothing worse...besides jets

I wonder if he'll survive the year in Oakland and might end up back here at some point...

This was a big mistake all things taken in consideration. You don't let a promising 2nd year wr (who costs nothing against the salary cap) go, in favor of players who won't be here in a year or two (Lafell/Amendola). Especially when that player has outperformed those players in practise and in game (he was basically the 2nd best wr we had in the games he was active in).

Yea I can see the thought process. Lafell/Amendola are more consistent, Lafell has special team value, and both guys are better at blocking which the patriots desperately need. It was also difficult carrying two projects and between him and Dobson, Dobson has more upside b/c of his size/speed combination.

Still, it was clear that he has major NFL currency as evidenced by being taken 2nd on the waiver wire. It's just a decision the Patriots are going to regret a year or two in the future.

I wish him the best. I was really hoping he would emerge because he worked so hard and showed so much promise at times. Just very inconsistent.

Thompkins was inactive for some reason. He wasn't injured so it had to be football related (or disciplinary). I like his story, too, but am not all that concerned about him being gone. And being picked 2nd on the waiver wire doesn't mean much. The worst teams get first dibs. And we all know how much OAK sucks.

I'm not that concerned at the loss of Thompkins. He's a nice player but replaceable.

My hope is the the play of Wright and Gronkowski last night is going to force teams to really try and clamp down on the middle of the field and that will allow for big plays outside and deep. I think having that size outside is going to really help Brady with those routes, trying them with Edelman, Amendola and even Slater at times simply doesn't work.

Will the Pats more specifically Brady and the outside wr be able to take advantage.

Let's not go putting Thompkins in Canton just because the Oakland Raiders claimed him off waivers.

Personally, I'm interested in seeing Tyms get a shot. He showed something that we haven't seen from an outside receiver since Moss -- the ability to go up and make a play on a jump ball.

No, it just means that Jokeland is desperate for WR help, and is willing to remove a player from their 53 to make that happen.

I wish Thompkins a great career. But I'm not as high on him as some people here. I don't think he's capable on being nothing more than an ok 3rd option on a good team

I dunno about that. The Raiders are predictably awful, and they're the only team that put a claim in on KT.

I was just coming here to post that. I was wondering how many teams put a claim in. Guess he wasn't that hot of a commodity after all.

He was solid enough, but I think the ceiling wasn't that high.

I always get the impression that if Dobson works out, he will achieve so much more!

I liked KT but the fact is that in the qualified assessment of the coaching staff he was not as good a candidate for the 53 as Tyms. Tyms is a fringe castoff player striving to make anybody's 53 as is KT.

I hope they both have successful NFL careers.
