His first absence of the season I believe, even after the earlier blow he took during the New Orleans game. That may explain why he was on the sideline for the second half of Sunday night's game.

That's something certainly to monitor considering Brady was finally starting to hit his stride. He's the 2nd leading receiver in terms of receptions (35), and third behind Edelman (28) and Gronkowski (24) in receiving first downs with 23. Seemed like he was starting to come on recently. Have to say overall it's hard not to be pleased with the progress he's made and he had been fairly reliable up until this past game and obviously today, especially having toughed out the last shot he took earlier in the year.

Hopefully this isn't too serious. He's been a big part of this team being able to start stretching the field a bit. From a deep ball standpoint Brady's connected on 4-of-10 on "Deep Left" plays to him this season, 2 have been touchdowns. He's only 1-of-9 throwing to him deep on the right side. Makes you wonder what the reasoning is behind that.

He's also the only player on the team with an offensive gain of over 50 yards, having made two. The team has three total, with Danny Amendola accounting for the other.

He had two that should have been caught on the left side, though. Both to Vereen. One last week in Carolina and one this past Sunday against Denver in the first half.

As for Dobson, definitely something to look at and makes you wonder if Thompkins truly was in there because Dobson couldn't get separation. I didn't see him come off the field and usually that indicates a very minor injury or concussion symptoms. Whatever it is, hopefully he makes his way back to the field sooner rather than later. He was progressing nicely.

EDIT: As for my unnecessary potshot at the mods earlier, my apologies. I attempted to delete the post citing a "borderline personal attack" in the "Reason for Editing" field, but the thread had already been closed.

Dobson looked like he was coming around so I think his performance Monday is more injury related.

The nice thing is that Thompkins went from the bench to a contributor in his place.
Its been a long time since we had a capable receiver that we didn't really need. These 2 seem to be interchangable and we are fine with one or the other.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Dobson didn't practice today due to a foot injury.

Now we have that question answered.

On a side note, Dennard practiced today so that's good news.

You couldn't be more right. That's one of the reasons I had hoped they'd stick it out with these young guys until Gronk & Amendola got healthy and now it's paying dividends. They have a group now where one can step in for the other and they have speed to go with it. Now if Boyce can figure it out next season we may actually be on to something

Also, Hightower and Sopaga both practiced today which makes it plausible that their game absence was not injury-related.

A position group 'growing up' together is a good thing.

[/U]Damn, first Leon Washington is scooped up and now Dobson doesn't practice. Sleepless night #2'coming up.

I re-watched the game earlier today and didn't see where the injury occurred to Dobson.

Might have been one of those 'unaware of the injury until after the game was finished' injuries. I hope whatever the issue is it isn't serious, and that he has a speedy recovery. The Patriots are going to need all hands on deck down the stretch.

Dobson was benched at halftime of the Broncos game and Thompkins took his place.

Dobson had no receptions covered by 5 different players.

He got hurt...most likely the reason he didn't play or practice today

Not at practice again..so safe to say he is probably out vs texans...no dennard as well

Unless you have the all-22, outside receivers and safeties are the two positions you see the least often, on TV.

Hope Dennard will be rested vs Houston. He's to valuable for us to risk him and we can handle them on Sunday without him anyway.

I actually have NFL Game Pass which includes coaches film. It was one of the best investments I've ever made, but thanks for asking.
