Belichick had a huge number of transactions at WR. We finally ended up with Patterson and Gordon as additions. The passing game ill be fine as long as there there aren't too many more injuries.

I believe that we have Edelman for 2019 and no other WR.

Gordon will be an RFA I believe.
And based on his trade value two weeks ago, he’s probably pretty safe at the ~$2 million original (2nd) round tender unless he puts up 1200 yards or something in these last 12 weeks.

We really need to hope that there aren't ANY more injuries, at ANY position.

The Pats currently have less than $1.25M in cap space. The minimum gross cap hit for adding another player is $0.48M - and that's for rookies. Anyone with any experience will cost more.

The 2019 FA Class not exactly spectacular but there are some familiar names such as...

Randall Cobb - Golden Tate - Cole Beasley - Kelvin Benjamin - Donte Moncrief and Tyler Lockett just to name a few.

I could see us going after Beasley on a one year get a ring contract, unless by some chance we get him for 2-3 years.

Maybe you're right, but I think even a middling (600-800 yards) "proof of concept" season could tempt at least one team to part with a 2nd for him.

Trade for Amari Cooper in the off-season & FIX him, since Gruden is in the business of getting rid of players.

next year is going to involve making a lot of moves

McCourty has a 13.4 mil hit(7%)
Allen has a 7.4 mil hit
clayborn has a 6 mil hit
Burkhead has a 3.4 mil hit

We'll probably cut allen outright, cut burkhead, restructure mccourty, not sure on clayborne.

That ought to give us enough wiggle room to sign someone, instead of the revolving door of jags we had this year.

Lots of great "dream scenarios" about players who the Pats could acquire right now who might be able to make the team much better and help them win a SB.

With what money?

The Pats currently have less than $1.25M in cap space.

Lockett was extended recently.

This is like drawing to an inside straight. Not gonna happen. Injuries will mount, players will be signed, and cap room will likely be created. The outlook is not good, but few have done as well as BB managing the cap.

That's why I hoped Coleman would stick around until after the season for a futures contract. But looks like he didn't even show enough to be kept on the PS.

Similarly, it looks like Dorsett will not get too many targets behind Gronk, Edelman, White and Gordon. So there is a good chance they can extend him for reasonable money to inject youth with system knowledge at a vintage Patriots price tag.

No clue what will happen with Hogan as he is getting there in terms of age and might want to cash in given a chance. I would not be surprised if McDaniels will make Patterson look good enough with his designs to make another team offer him more than the Pats would.

And the Pats have control over Gordon for another year one way or the other. Am more worried about him making himself unavailable with bad decisions.

We'll see. There aren't an unlimited number of moves that can be made, and most of them would be incremental.

For example, I'm wondering how long it will be until the Pats refill the 10th PS spot. NOT doing so for the rest of the season saves about $1ook in cap space.

I’m not sure he’s worth the almost $14 million next season even if they do fix him.
Ooops...wasn’t aware his rookie contract would be up already. Damn, time flies.

In that case, let him suffer in OAK
