This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

LB Bobby Okereke - Sideline to sideline 3 down LB. Has played well vs. pats recently.
Feels like there’s about a 90% chance he ends up in Chicago. His former DC is the HC coach there, they traded away Roquan Smith rather than paying him at that position, and they have an obscene amount of cap room (somewhere around triple what the Pats will have) and not enough good players to spend it on.

(I agree with a lot of the rest of this post, especially Dean as a fit.)

I like zay flowers on day 2 for us , besides that I am not in love with this wr class esp high first round
I think addison is rated to high, I think njigba has more talent
I do like the idea if we don’t make the playoffs to trade down into the twentys and trade up with the extra pick and one of our third founders to maybe pick two times in the area 21-32 to select an OT and CB or josh downs
I like the CB class a lot this year

Agreed johnston probably a top 8-12 pick
Who would you trade for? I would like jerry jeudy or mclaurin

True..in fact we haven’t developed any wr no matter where they were drafted except udfa meyers , Troy Brown needs to be on the hot seat as well

I wouldn’t mind Wright, Paris Johnson, bergeron or harrison either, Broderick Jones even , I think these guys can develop into starting caliber OT with solid Coaching
I really want someone who can win outside. I'm not picky rn lol. I think Higgins or Pittman would be great combined with Ladd McConkey or Rakim Jarrett in the 3rd or 4th. Maybe a guy like Dortch in FA and all of a sudden we have a WR corp that scares you.

I'd take Wright in the 1st and just not worry about RT for a few years. Bergeron might be OT2/3 for me. One of the few guys I'd gamble on early. Probably will be higher on him and Harrison than most.

That's why I wouldn't mind spending a 1st/4th on a trade for a WR and attack OT through FA/2ND RD but it's just an idea.

I enjoy watching college football - it’s less stressful for me than watching the Pats - since I’m not a gambler my thing is to watch guys at positions I think are the primary needs for the Pats. It would help a lot if I knew more about the intricacies of the game but that ship sailed many moons ago, so generally what I look for is signs that a guy has attributes that clearly and consistently shows he can succeed at the NFL level, I.e., quickness, power, toughness, smarts (not just on a few “flash“ plays but on most plays).

This year my focus has been on LTs, WRs, ILBs, and boundary CBs. So I’ve watched many of what I understand to be the highest regarded OT prospects. I expect there will be 4 taken in the 1st 15 picks this coming draft - it just always seems to work out that way lately especially when the QB class isn’t strong. I would guess that would put Wright, Johnson, B. Jones, and Harrison out of reach for the Pats (I‘m guessing here based on their height and weight measurements and on listings I’ve seen online). I wouldn’t be surprised if Skoronski and the Michigan OC also went in the top 20

If things work out that way, then as much as they I think have to come out of the draft with the future LT1 I would much prefer to see them spend the draft capital on someone more talented at a different position than say the 5th or 6th guy at OT. I think they can get someone that could be great in the 15 - 20 range that they currently project to be, and someone else really good in the 2nd that can fit the bill at OT (hoping for Bergeron, the PSU kid, or D. Jones) and then someone with good potential in the 4th (hoping for Duncan or Freeland). This may mean addressing the future RT1 earlier than the future LT1 but they need both so if that’s where the talent is so be it.

If they can trade the #1 and one of their 3rds for a guy like Higgins or McLaurin that would command attention it would be well worth it, so much better potential than a rookie I think. I’d do a #1 pick for Jeudy too, given his familiarity with Mac, but would need something else back from Denver.

They have the draft capital and room under the cap to make a big impact but of course if they don’t have the coaching fixed I am pessimistic that it will happen as it should.

I see it like Bruce Allen, meaning BB got caught with his pants around his anKles, with no succession plan in place he wound up flailing around for the off-season and then was forced to go with Patricia. if this is the case then it is sort of ironic that in spite of the perception that BB surrounds himself with ”yes men” and sons, the issue in this case was yielding too much to McDaniels

Regardless of how they got here, they just have to get the staff reset ASAP after the season, and am worried they will get screwed by the New York Clown Car over the phony Rooney Rule charade. They will certainly be under special scrutiny given Flores’ meltdown. Nothing that BB and “Bend Over Bob” don’t know all too well.

just spinning around here a bit but...

i think on defense our top priorities should be outside CB who is taller and can complement jack jones with marcus jones in the slot
then a LB for all three downs prefferable with sideline sideline range
and a FS
--> i think the CB is well suited for our CB need with Porter, Gonzalez, Jones, Ringo all physical CB with size....Clark Phillips i think is under 6' but still very good....although i prefer just because i think OT and WR are better adressed via draft or trade than FA i would suggest going for a FA CB like the already mentioned Dean or Bradberry
This would lock down this need and give us space to potential go for an OT early
as a LB for example edmunds via FA as i think trenton simpson is not the guy we chase
FS i think we should adress later in the draft or vet FA with not much used cap space because i think with Jack/Marcus Jones, vet FA CB, Mills, Dugger, Phillips and potential resign of Peppers give us an already good backfield, and i rather use the big spending on some other position than S and RB

offensively i think we need to go for OT and WR early
the WR FA class is bad, i don't see agholor or meyers back in my scenario here for different reasons, i view bourne/thornton and parker as keepers
thornton =speed, deep threat, parker=physical, contested catch guy; bourne=R/R, Slot option, so we have in theory already different kind of WR
Bourne takes over Meyers slot options (i am rebuilding without patricia and bourne has a lot of upside and is cheap)
I think we should draft a slot option on Day 2 or 3 and sign a vet WR as an outside WR maybe 1 year deal

I like to go for an OT early who can start across Brown (maybe switch Brown to RT if we draft Bergeron or Harrison for example) and sign a vet OT maybe Jawaan Taylor for RT?
Wynn can go
McDermott and Cajuste can fight for 4T Spot

If money is left and i think with restructures it can be i would like to add Payne (my wish) because it would give us to great Bama DT who can rush the passer inside. This would help Barmore a lot imo, as he can learn from Payne too

Don't forget Quinn Meinerz, who should be here already anyway.
I find it POSITIVELY amazing that you haven't been snapped up by some NFL front office, given your totally perfect gift of 20-20 hindsight. The fact you have the courage to have pointed out each and EVERY good player the Pats had a chance at picking and didn't for the last 20 years just boggles the imagination. That is a VERY high horse you're riding there capt'n, so when you finally realize that there are 30 odd teams that ALSO miss good players, that drop to the ground is gonna hurt.

From what I understand, so it should be taken with a grain of salt, Carr's not playing the rest of the year has NOTHING to do with any "distractions" and EVERYTHING to do with $$$$$$$$, something like over $35MM dollars.

BTW I'm not sure this is all on Carr. They lost Renfroe and Waller for large parts of the season and he DID have to learn a new offense AND offensive language, which didn't help either. The Raiders will be lucky to get a 5th for him given his contract. It may no be fair, but Carr is likely to end up his NFL career as a solid back up
