Understood. But Vrabel had input and those were some awful draft picks. Isaiah Wilson and Treylon Burks were not only busts but not even culture fits. Let's hope the 2025 draft is much better.

Agree here, he’s not taking another head coaching job without control.

Fans need to understand, especially when people were asking why Belichick took a college job, there’s a finite number of NFL head coaching jobs available each year.

A good percentage of pro jobs are teams owned by poor decision makers or who have tied themselves at the hip with a poor decision maker at GM or team president. These are terrible jobs for a young aspiring head coach to take. You’re better off not taking a bad job and waiting for a good one.

Brian Daboll and Brian Flores were good head coaching candidates… they took crappy jobs with crappy owners. If you have no or little control over personnel, you don’t control your destiny.

Generalizations is it? How about I tell you why I don't think ashton jeanty is worth the 4th overall pick in the draft...
is that 7 yards per carry average sustainable in the NFL? No it is not.
He going to get 2600 yards in the NFL? hell no
Can he average 100 ypg? doubtful... only three guys managed it this year... and the last one before that was in 2021
is he going to rush for 29 td's? No, he's not. hell it takes most good RBs three or four years to achieve that
do i think that the teams he ran against gave up an average 180+ yards per game? Yes I do. Handful topped 200 ypg...
do I think that the best defense he faced last year (penn st) kept him in check? Yes I do. 104, 3.5 ypc average
Do I think that is a better representation of his talent level? Much closer to that than the 7.0 ypc he had this year.

does he have talent? sure, when hes running against hawaii, utah, air force etc... is that going to transition to the NFL... Maybe... am I spending the 4th overall pick on him? No effing way...

as for draft research, i do some... not as much as some guys, more than others...

It seems to me that most guys that carry it THAT MUCH regress due to injury.
I do not want Jeanty in R1... ESPECIALLY at pick 4.

He's well north of 1000 touches just in 3 years of college, not to mention high school.

Running for 2600 yards in a barely D-1 conference through Mack Truck sized holes isn't nearly as impressive as people make it out to be.

I agree with this. I also don't think the Giants are dumb enough to spend a #3 overall pick on Shedeur. I think they go Hunter all the way.

Which leaves us with a bunch of players not nearly as good players as Carter or Hunter. Mayo winning that last game was the worst thing to happen.

I think the Giants will take other QB, Jaxson Dart who is a pocket passer and could sit for a year and learn from a vet like RW. Not sure he will last until the 2nd round though.

They were dumb enough to let Barkley go when he was the best deal on the free agent market.

Absolutely not; he should’ve been fired BEFORE the final game in fact… Just showing that your Worst Case scenario - keeping Mayo but having little cap space & low draft picks - was never a possibility anyway… Keeping Bill & his entourage might’ve been an even worse Worst Case than the one-year disaster we just endured…
