Wolf prefers to go best player available

What is your source? You just linked Jeremiah's twitter profile itself
I believe Wolf spoke at a fan event at Gillette over the weekend. The quote likely comes from there.

Obviously the Trade offers can/will come when we are on the clock but these quotes would seem to indicate we plan on making the pick at 4 and are happy with BPA even if Carter or Hunter are gone. This suggests they like who ever they think is the best non QB prospect after Carter or Hunter.

Honestly I think this is the best path as they should be good enough at their jobs to confidently decide who they think is the best of the rest and they should pounce on that player with conviction. It should take a haul to move us off that spot.

Still have no idea what the source is. Please provide one
Have to agree - Wolf hasn't spoken in 11 days and typically doesn't do interviews outside of that.

Not sure if this is what you were looking for...

That makes more sense. That's just his overall philosophy, not necessarily exclusive to this year.

Terrified if both Carter and Hunter are gone Mayo hate rises.
Triggered.

In a pick at #4 (can't trade down) BPA scenario, where Carter and Hunter are gone, I'd go with Tyler Warren. He doesn't have to bare the weight of the TE Position with Henry and Hooper there (who he can learn from). And, he's talented enough to contribute immediately, and would then be our #1 TE and hopefully nightmare for opposing defenses when Henry and Hooper are gone. Warren, combined with a legit #1 WR obtained within the next 2 years after this one, would help Maye out greatly. We could then trade back into the 1st Round and hopefully get Conerly Jr. at LT. There are other players that could be just as solid a pick at #4.

I always try to advocate for BPA, but at #4 with Carter and Hunter gone it would be hard to know who is the BPA as a lot of positions and guys are similar in ranking. BPA becomes easier to identify in R2 and beyond when there is more variance in the choices. Last year for instance there were a lot of defensive players ranked higher than Polk.

There's a big difference between "Patriots WILL go best player available" and "Wolf personally prefers to go best player available when possible"...

I've edited the title since no other source has been provided

I’m not saying they won’t take Jeanty at 4, nor would I overly hate it to be honest.

But everyone needs to avoid taking this too seriously. The most likely outcome of the top 3 is Ward, Hunter and Carter in some order.

Who is the next BPA…nobody really knows. What Wolf is doing here is putting it out there we’re not drafting the assumed primary need of LT. So if you want Graham or Jeanty or whomever your BPA is you better make us an offer or they might be gone.

Just my uninformed assumption here.

For someone who isn't even in charge of the football operation, Wolf needs to say less or be less specific when he speaks. He's becoming polarizing

I'm sure they collaborated before he said this.

He has a habit of saying things.. " weaponize" the offense, " we have enough to support a young QB", dark knight " the hero you need isn't the hero you have"

Like dude WTF you talking about...LOL

Exactly. The more speaking opportunities he has, the more frequently he says things that make you turn your head sideways
