With Patriots Fearing Torn ACL, It's a Tough End For Cyrus Jones

Meniscus is probably the most painful part, too. Had one, know what it feels like.

You'll see guys limping off the field under their own power with a torn ACL. When Cyrus had to be carried off in agony, I immediately started thinking meniscus.

Tore my meniscus when I tore my ACL. This was close to 20 years ago now.. They've come a long way since then. He won't have the zipper scar like I do and it's easier to clean up the meniscus now with arthroscopy.. Best of luck to him.. Hopefully he'll be ready for camp.

Coleman the likely beneficiary here, but I still like Moore. PR is another matter.

It's unfortunate what happened to Cyrus Jones but Justin Coleman looked way more comfortable in our regular D. Lets hope this injury doesn't derail Cyrus's career.

Silver lining: getting his meniscus repaired rather than shaved is the better long term solution for a full recovery. You usually see players/teams opting to shave it down to lessen the recovery timeline, but doing so leads to long-term knee issues. Since Jones' ACL is torn as well, the recovery timeline on his meniscus presumably isn't really a factor since either way it will recover faster than his ACL. So might as well get it repaired and avoid long-term complications.

Cyrus was my binky. I even have an Alabama jersey of his, autographed by him.

At least now he can spend Saturdays watching the Crimson Tide while rehabbing/recovering. Sigh.
