Winning with this current receiver corp is not sustainable

You guys need to relax on Thompkins. The talent is there. He may have just had some first-game jitters, on the road, and experience the speed of the NFL for the first time. Game 2 and every game forward will give him more experience and allow him to adjust and build chemistry with Brady. We also should not forget that a handful of those throws to him by Brady were highly questionable.

The fact remains that while he only had 4 catches, he was getting open enough to garner 14 targets by Brady. Two he slipped on and at least two others Brady threw uncatchable balls. He'll have better luck this week so long as he keeps running routes like he has all through preseason.

Cecil Shorts only caught 3 of his 11 targets yesterday - I doubt the Jags are ready to dump him after one week. Patience.

If Dobson is suited up as our #3 WR, it would definitely NOT be miraculous for him to carry 5-6 balls. If Gronk isn't playing, we will play a 3 WR et (or 4) all game, as Buffalo did against us.

The question is NOT whether he has shown himself to be more ready that Thompkins. The question is whether he is more ready than Boyce. I think that Dobson will get lots of targets as the #3 (for awhile at least).

He was clearly less ready than Thompkins all through pre-season. It would be miraculous for him to catch 5-6 balls.

We will agree to disagree. I would love to see Dobson get 6 catches. That is a lot of production for any receiver, especially a rookie, especially in his first NFL game (as a long strider coming off a hammy).

Not worried about the WR group. Gronk will be back soon, Amendola is only out 1 week as a precautionary measure we don't need him it's the Jets, Edelman had a dominant game and Kenbrell Tompkins will have a breakout game on Thursday.

Can you please disclose who your fortune cookie teller is? I'd like to ask the little sorcerer for the winning numbers in this upcoming Powerball drawing...

I'm sorry I forgot we're not allowed to have opinions about what may or may not happen in the future.

Sounded more like a statement than an opinion.... but alas.... sorry you got offended.

Time to see what this corp minus Gronk/Amendola looks like tonight because the sad reality is that this is most likely not going to be the first week we are missing both of them.

I have NO idea what our passing game will look like or bring tonight. We may have to win this one on the ground. Ridley better be up to the challenge - one fumble and it will be Blount, Bolden, and whoever else is healthy. This is Ridley's last chance. He will be trade bait or gone if he blows this one.

You think that this is going to be the ONLY week this season that both Gronk and Amendola are not playing due to injury?

Good luck with that. We're going to have to get used to whatever we see tonight.

not until vereen is back. so he still sees the season out

Two completely different posts, yet you're trying to put words into my mouth....

I wouldn't get carried away, he had a bad week, last year he had 300 carries and lost 2 fumbles, his fumbleitis problem has been exaggerated in the past.

Maybe, but if he blows it tonight - he is done with the Pats. BB will do what is best for the team and he will be buried or traded. As much as we need him, he is on one short leash.

No they're not.

This is the first week we are missing both Amendola and Gronk. I said get used to both of them being out and you responded with a confused smiley.

It is RARELY about the number - it is ALL about timing and outcome. Ridley has screwed us on both.

I know he knocked the F out in the playoffs last year, but EVERYTIME this guy coughs it up - we give up points.
