I cannot envision this team without #55, nor should I. I cannot believe that he has not been re-upped yet. I am having trouble making sense of this as well as the talks with Vinatieri.

I agree totally in supporting the team, coach, etc.

BUT, Willie has been a favourite of mine for years, even through the down years. Plus, he should be able to be kept for reasonable money.

You could be right, if this cut means we re-up Seymour and Branch, and maybe sign a Peterson or Woodson, it could be good.

But, as a cancerian I am loyal and Willie is a personal favourite.

BELICHICK is far from being clueless, he is aware of the affection for Willie as anyone. A petition will do nothing. Cutting Willie gives him a chance to earn more $$$. Your kidding yourself if you think Willie can't return here if he chooses, for less money yes, but he could return I'm am sure.

Not if we are to believe Willie. Willie said there has been no discusions,
there are no offers to consider, no one is talking to him.
He has no choice to make. he must look elsewhere.

At least BB/SP could have told him where he stands. According to Willie
he has heard nothing except he has been released. Now I am a big
supporter of BB, I love the guy as a coach, I don't think I've missed
many of his press conferences.
But this leaves me rent in two that one of Patriots pillars for the last
decade is given this kind of treament.
Maybe BB/SP will do something but from the news it sounds like Willie is
headed out to the Browns.

I really don't want to hear the response it is for the good of the team.
I am not now arguing that Willie shouldn't be cut.
But don't tell me not being square with a guy who has given so much
, to not tell him where he stands, is for the good of the team? Hogwash!
It might even affect guys like Bruschi and Varbel and Seymour and .... the
rest of the guys who love Willie .... they are not without ears and eyes ...
they know how Willie is being treated.
This is bad! IMO

I love Willie Mcginnist, but he used to be Willie Mcnugget to me, to many inj, was on the sideline more than on the field from 98-01.. If he comes back, great but I think he wants to get one last great deal, and cleveland will probably pay him...
