I can see Brady having a great year with all these new WR's who can go deep and open up the TE throws for Watson and co. Ben may take a few for some long TD's this year. Who could run him down once he gets going?
Maroney should be a the benefit of all this and run for lot as well, and Gosth(sp) is going to be a solid kicker.
We should not see to many 17-13 games imo

I know; it doesn't matter as long as we win But; it will be a fun year!

This prediction has been made bo someone on the board in each of the last 3-4 years, but I can't argue with you this time. This is the best collection of offensive talent the Patriots have ever had.

I say I dont want to set ANY records.....I dont care about records and all that....that superbowl win is the only thing thats gonna matter to us fans come february.....Anything else will cause anguish

A scoring defense record should also be within reach.

I've been looking at my keyboard trying to figure out how you typed an 'o' instead of a 'y'.

I'm totally stumped!

I would be in absolute heaven if we went undefeated in the AFC East. I think Brady will probably throw more touchdowns than in past campaigns but I don't think it will be like 2005 when he had to rely on the pass cuz the run was not there.

Good Point I remember the Minnesota Vikings aetting all kinds of scoring records and lost to the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship game at HOME so I agree not concerned with records just Superbowl Wins. By the way their field goal kicker had not missed a field goal all year and when he did
miss.... You got it the NFC Championship Game.

no, we will not set a scoring record

these things have a funny way of working out

are offense looks really good on paper, but for some reason that usually doesn't translate to points on the field

the opposite can be true too

just think, last year Brady lost D.Branch, D.Givens, T.Dwight, A.Davis, and B.Johnson from the 2005 club and we yet we still scored in the top 5 point totals in Pats history

OK I know some of us are diehard homies but breaking the offensive scoring record and defense points allowed record in the same season is a bit of a ridiculous statement wouldn't you think?

Lets not go overboard and think the other teams will simply lie down for us - Its gonna be a VERY competitive season with alot of good teams to face.

You are dreaming if you think we accomplish both - or even come close to doing both.

The bottom line is the goal to win the Championship, O or D Records in the regular season mean squat, especially for fans who dream the impossible.

As someone mentioned with the 17-13 games, the Patriots sometimes have a tendancy to play down to there oponents which the Colts do as well, so while i expect New England's offense to be improved overall compared to last seasons i dotn think theyll come within a sniff of the team record. Also, I have somewhat of a feeling the pats run game is going to struggle a little bit with the entire load on Maroney. Pats fans will miss Dillon.

I'm actually thinking we break the scoring defense record without breaking the scoring offense record. We just added AD, Merriweather, a healthy Rodney and a healthy Bruschi to an already spectacular defense. Taking a merely good offense and turning it into the best ever is a much tougher task.

OTOH, if our defense keep running them off the field quickly, our offense will get a lot of opportunities. I think its silly to call it impossible. In fact, I'd peg the odds of setting both Pats records in 2007 at better than 5%. It certainly isn't impossible.

I think that the Pats will use their offense to cover any defensive weaknesses. Brady is going to have manning type of year and the Pats D will get stronger as the year goes on.

I think a strong D actually helps the offense a lot. Give Brady a short field with these weapons and the Pats will end up scoring a lot of easy touchdowns. Sure the D is going to score some TDs by itself but many plays that cause turnovers are going to have the defender tackled before he can get to the endzone. I expect a couple of offensive Pats records should be broken this year. Especially when you put into consideration that the defense is allowed to do a lot less against the offense these days due to the Polian rule (designed to help Peyton Manning, but also helps other passing offenses in the NFL).
