If there is a rookie salary cap then we might see the Patriots trade up in the first round. I can see one circumstance where this would be needed and that would be to nab a dominant pass-rusher. It is hard to grab one of these guys later in the first round especially if the Patriots want a 3-4 DE with pass-rushing skills--a very difficult commodity to find.
