I like this pick a lot. Sherman was on my PTP Big Board and had an overall grade from me in this range so the value is there imo.

Love his effort, willingness to fight from rep to rep. Lots of drive and "want to", he takes it personal. + grip strength and placement.

At times he plays hips and eyes first followed by light, quick feet and all his weight behind him. Can knock you back a few yards before doing solid work in space. Solid, efficient angles in the run game, quick climber. Has a lot to clean up but he's a pretty complete player. From start to finish he can handle himself on the line and in space.

Always looks for work when hes not busy.

Pretty good hand usage on initial rush but gets very grabby on the play goes on. Good accuracy and placement but has trouble sustaining throughout. Quick feet, draws a lot of power from the body up. Can mirror and keep up in short area/space.

Absolutely has to get stronger overall but definitely has to improve his core strength imo.

Body control and balance arent the best as the play moves on. Feet get crossed up, hands are inefficient and all over the place at times.

Could be a little meaner, a little more nasty overall.

Lots to work with. Our type. Needs a little TLC and luck but has some potential and tools to work with.

2020 Weekly NFL Picks Winner
Dane Brugler's summary (projected 6th round pick; 16th best OG)

SUMMARY: A three-year starter at Colorado, Sherman manned the left tackle position in offensive coordinator Darrin Chiaverini’s offense. After earning All-Pac 12 honors as a freshman left tackle, he moved to right tackle in 2019 before returning to the left side in 2020, where he looked much more comfortable (learned under three different offensive line coaches over the past three seasons). Sherman is an active player with trained eyes and movements, but his footwork and balance after contact need continued work. His lack of core strength and control at the point of attack will be tougher to mask at the NFL level. Overall, Sherman has workable traits with his lower-body flexibility and awareness, but his balance issues and wandering hands must improve for him to earn steady work in the NFL. He is a tackle-to-guard projection with some upside at center.

Brugler is one of the best.

Sounds like a year of professional weight training will help him. Probably has to best out Cajuste

This will be a great story if Sherman turns out to be another Onwenu , hopefully we will hear his name a lot (positively) at camp etc

There were better OLmen than this guy still available at the time of the pick, which because of that Fact deserves a D Minus.

I agree, I do not understand this pick.

is closer to being jag than someone that can contribute,

the weird thing is last year we took a chance on a monster sized guy with a huge ceiling potential. And that worked out great,

this year we take an average guy with a very low ceiling,

Day 3 of our draft was very bizarre!
